Abstract

Nowadays, technology develops very fast and it is very important for a country to have the latest scientific and technological information. Therefore studies on the translation of English for Science and Technology are not only academically important but practically crucial. With the worldwide dissemination of science and technique, English for science and technology has been developed into an important language in the scope of science and technology. As a subcategory of English for Special Purposes, EST is different from English for General Purpose. Along with its development, EST has become an independent branch of English with its own features and characteristics. This paper discusses the basic elements involved in EST translation.
