以接触语言学视角研究英语中的汉语外来词

Abstract

The exchange of economy, politics as well as culture among different countries is bound to result in the contacts of different languages. With the intension of world integration, the connection of the countries around the world is more and more tight. During this process, different kinds of languages are interacted as well. As one of the most important international languages, during its long contact with other languages, English has absorbed and drawn upon fruits of other languages to increase its internationalization and adaptability. 

With the raise of China’s worldwide status, the Chinese words borrowed by English are also increasing. Therefore, more and more scholars began to engage in the study, trying to keep up with the time. However, the large number research has not resolved the essential problem: how do the Chinese loanwords in English form? What is the law of borrowings? Under this background, this thesis tends to research and analyze the Chinese borrowings in English and try to solve these kinds of problems with the perspective of Contact Linguistics which aims to research the law of language changes caused by the contact of different types of languages or the languages which have the same origin but have been differentiated.
