文化差异对英美电影字幕中译的影响

Abstract

    Nowadays, with the rapid development of internet, Chinese people can enjoy wonderful movies at home with computers. Although wonderful English movies can attract the audience through excellent plots themes, But good movie subtitles can make movies more attractive. The translation of movie subtitles is new in the translation field and many scholars in China and at abroad have done researches on this topic. . This paper will apply the Skopos theory to do study on film subtitle translation. Firstly, it will give research background and significance. Then it will give a brief introduction Skopos theory and the influence of this theory on subtitle translation. And finally, it will put forward some translation methods from the perspective of replacement, addition and reduction or omission. It is hoped that the research on movie subtitle translation in this paper can be beneficial for English learners who are interested in this field.
