Abstract: 

Uncle Tom’s Cabin is a novel of the American novelist Mrs. Harriet Beecher Stowe’s. it belongs to a Anti-Slavary novel. since its puclication, it has been attached more importance by the research field. For this reason, This paper gives an analysis and a deep study of Uncle Tom’s Cabin from the perspective of the change of the character of Uncle Tom. At first, he is such a pious and honest christian, he is full of love, and willing to do everything that his master asks him to do, even the truth he will be sold. He believes in Christianity deeply and does everything with love. Then under the pressure of the Slave owner, in order to help the other slaves,he revolts the slavery in his special way and at last loses his life in the process of helping the others. In addition, through the discussion of different personality characteristics in different period, the paper better reflects the social historical environment and the author’s self psychological state.

摘要：

《汤姆叔叔的小屋》是美国小说家斯托夫人的一部奴隶制小说。自出版以来便受到研究界的广泛关注。为此，本文从分析汤姆叔叔的性格变化的角度入手对该小说做了深入的研究和分析。起初，汤姆叔叔是如此一个虔诚、诚实的基督徒，他深信着基督教，无论做什么事情他都充满了爱心，他心甘情愿地为他的奴隶主做一切事情，甚至，连他知道自己即将被卖掉，也心甘情愿地接受。后来，在他的第二个奴隶主的残酷压迫和剥削下，为了帮助其他的奴隶们，汤姆开始用自己的方式反抗奴隶制度，最后在帮助别人的过程中牺牲了自己的生命。可见他从一个心地善良的基督教徒到一个反抗者的变化。通过这些不同时期的性格变化，本文也更好地揭示出了当时的社会历史环境，以及作者自身的心理状态。
