Abstract

     From the perspective of teaching theory, it points out that there are many factors influencing the curricula of English and American literature courses, and proposes strategies to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching in English and American literature. Adhere to the students as the center and adopt various teaching methods.

Introduction

The traditional English and American literature curriculum has an important effect on the comprehensive English ability of the students. With the rapid development of education globalization, the popularity of the network, the accelerated pace of life, the current situation of English and American literature teaching, reflections on the present teaching situation of  English and American literature, to explore the development of English and American literature curriculum. On this basis, and to enhance the comprehensive ability of students' English and bring into play the role of English and American literature courses.

Research Subjects

     The teaching theories in English and American literature is an important course for undergraduates in English majors, And therefore, all kinds of colleges and universities foreign language English professional teaching plan or training programs are occupied an important position. It is of great significance to improve students' basic language skills, enhance students' understanding of western literature and culture, master certain basic knowledge of literature, enhance students' literary appreciation ability and enhance their humanistic accomplishment. However, at the end of the course, the accomplishment of the teaching objectives is useless to meet the expectations. This paper tries to analyze that the main factors which influences the effectiveness of this course from the perspective of effective teaching and puts forward some relevant strategies.
