奥斯卡·王尔德作品中对同性爱情的美学诠释

Abstract

Oscar Wilde, an Irish-born English playwright, novelist, essayist and poet, brings us a series of successful and sometimes innovative productions of different genres. Scholars and professors at home and aboard have mainly studied aestheticism and the discussion of moral sense reflected in his writings. Nevertheless, his writing career is influenced by same-sex love. It is an significant point that can not be ignored on the study of Oscar Wilde. 

Expected to give a comprehensive way to understand Oscar Wilde, this paper firstly introduces Oscar Wilde and his masterpieces, then analyze his work and the influence of the same-sex love on his literary creation. In the end, it introduces Wilde’s contribution to the ideology and his aestheticism with his display of same-sex love, and the role he has played in the struggle for the equal right. This paper tries to enlighten on the readers that Oscar Wilde’s contribution not only lies in literature but also in changing social prejudice on same-sex love.
