What has caused this situation, is it because of the teacher’s responsibility or only the students’ responsibility? The essay analyzes the reasons and recent situation in China, introducing the meaningful schema theory for teaching of English reading. Moreover, a questionnaire is put into the essay with the data. In the questionnaire, there are some vital reasons that are important and helpful to both teachers and students.
