Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology in China has promoted the demand for foreign technical documents, among which English technical documents are the most important part, so technical English translation has become a very important project. In technical English translation, we should follow several basic principles, that is, accuracy, fluency and simplicity. However, in the process of translation, translators sometimes find misleading elements of vocabulary. Sentences and paragraphs. .

This thesis will analyze the misleading elements in automobile English translation so as to offer some help in realizing higher quality technical English translation. Those elements will be analyzed at three levels: lexical level, syntactic level and textual level. Examples will be shown to illustrate different elements; causes will be analyzed in order to define countermeasures; solutions will be raised based on related theories and translation experience.
