Abstract

As a part of English teaching, reading teaching plays an important role in English teaching for a long time. This paper will analyze the present situation of English reading teaching by studying the relevant theories of English reading at home and abroad, analyze the connotation of cultural teaching and its position in English teaching so as to understand the necessity and importance of cultural teaching, especially the Anglo-American culture In English teaching in China's prominent influence and position, cultivate students 'cross-cultural awareness and literacy, and effectively master the cultural methods, so as to improve the students' English reading level and ability.
