Abstract

In the 21st century, international exchanges are increasingly frequent. With the growing scale of foreign trade, English E-mail has become an indispensable tool of language communication in the world's economic activities. As the primary means to transmit information and discuss business in international trade, English E-mail are playing an increasingly important role in business activities. As a result, how to understand and translate E-mail properly, and convey our information and condition accurately and faithfully to the other party, has become a critical issue. This thesis attempts to take Functional Equivalence Theory to analyze E-mail translation form functional perspective. Meanwhile the thesis also employs several points out that the functional theories can be guidance to E-mail translation and puts forward some principles and strategies suitable and useful for English E-mail translation.
