Abstract

Marriage culture is a part of the achievements of human civilization, and marriage is a very important thing for every nation.

Due to the different countries have different cultural backgrounds, a variety of marriage concepts have been produced in every corner of the world. So the different cultural backgrounds between Chinese and American make their respective marriage concepts show different cultural connotations.

 This essay illustrates some differences between Chinese and American marriage concepts, which based on the source of the cultural backgrounds. For example, the geographical environment, historical reasons, religious beliefs and so on. The trend of globalization is gradually reducing the gap, and it has played a very important role of the cultural integration. We have to do is seeking common ground while reserving differences, taking the essence of American culture while retaining the essence of traditional culture in Chinese, so as to promote the common development of cultural harmony and enrich our cultural construction.
