With the deep development of economic globalization, communication between Chinese and foreigners become more and more frequent. Translation plays an important role in the communications. English as a common language in the world has become one of our bridges to the world. Although it narrowed the world and pushed the spread of mutual knowledge and culture. But in the actual application there are some deviations as different cultural backgrounds, different customs and different regions etc, which brings different understandings for the same matter, even misunderstanding; also influence the communication and translation quality directly.

Abstract

Translation is a behavior of converting one language into another language accurately, fluently; a process of changing unfamiliar expression to familiars. Culture is in and out of the material. It can be inherited as national history, custom, tradition, lifestyle, literature, arts, behavior, thinking method and value etc. It is generally accepted by human beings as a kind of an inherited ideological. Translation based on local culture can transmit the author's intentions accurately. But cultural differences had an indelible impact on translation. It will be more effective for flexible, accurate translation to know about cultural difference. Then we can have better communications in various cultural environments.

1. Introduction

From "East is East and West is West, never meet" said by British writer Rudyard Kipling to "translator must be a real intellectual” by Professors Wang Zuoliang ,We can feel the times progress. The development of contemporary translation studies deepens people's understanding of the translation. Translation is not only a conversion of two languages but also including culture harmonious and conflict.

Four foreign cultural translation climax had significant effects on East-Western culture. They are Buddhist translation of Han and Tang Dynasties; technical translation in seventeenth century; modern and contemporary Western translation and unprecedented large-scale translation activities after the 1980s. Translation and culture are closely related. Language is the carrier of culture. Features of cultural constitute an important part of "cultural translation" Enriching and penetrating cultural differences can improve translation accuracy to get effective communication.
