Vocabulary, as the basic element of language, the unity of sound, form and meaning, as the basic link of language learning, plays a very important role in the process of primary school English teaching. In the exam oriented teaching environment, both teachers and students' English learning goals have become utilitarian. For vocabulary teaching, teachers' teaching and students' learning ignore the basic content of vocabulary learning.
Widdowson, H.G. (1990) asserts that an appropri⁃ate use of language should have two conditions: one is about an ap⁃propriate language environment, and the other is about an appropri⁃ate communication environment. It can be seen that foreign scholars also agree that vocabulary teaching plays an important role in the overall English teaching. Only when we learn to use proper words in different contexts can we really use English.
Dr. Malik behlol(2010) used a control group design, basis the structural method of teaching vocabulary (SMTV) and taught with the definitional method of teaching vocabulary(DMTV). Study the influence of the two methods on students' performance.
It can be seen from the new curriculum standard of primary school English that the vocabulary required of primary school students has decreased significantly, and more attention is paid to the practicability of English learning. Instead of memorizing the meaning of words in English dictionaries without context..Han Liang(2011) Han Liang pointed out that many students spend a lot of energy on memorizing words, often forgetting while reciting them. This kind of boring and mechanized word memory is separated from activities and real language environment, which not only wastes time, but also reduces students' interest and confidence in foreign language learning. Therefore, teachers should apply the theory of educational psychology to teaching practice, pay attention to enrich the form of classroom teaching in vocabulary teaching, create a good atmosphere, so that students can memorize vocabulary more flexibly and firmly. This is a common problem in traditional Chinese English teaching. Deng Peng(2018) believes that interest is the first to eliminate the psychological barriers in the process of vocabulary learning. Phonetics as a guide to lay a solid foundation for vocabulary teaching. To improve the effectiveness of vocabulary teaching in an all-round way. Combining the old with the new to form the Network Vocabulary Teaching. 
In this aspect, we have to mention the popular natural spelling in recent years. Jiang Rong(2019) believes that through the teaching of letters and the corresponding relationship between letter combination and pronunciation, we can achieve the purpose of reading words, listening and writing. In the process of teaching, the expected effect cannot be achieved, which is often due to the single teaching method and lack of interest; the teaching content is disjointed and lack of relevance.
Sun Lihe(2014) believes that for foreign language learners who are in the stage of non full context enlightenment learning, both oral phonetic literacy and symbolic phonetic literacy are the necessary prerequisite for the rapid development of language. Successful language learners, whether adults or children, can not do without their understanding of the underlying phonetic structure of vocabulary. Weak language learners are often unable to separate the phonetic components of words; due to the lack of phonetic knowledge, they are unable to name things correctly, which will also lead to dyslexia in sentence comprehension due to phonetic category errors. In the case of insufficient communicative context, the familiarity with the prototype of English basic symbols and dictionary tools is a prerequisite for classroom teaching for specific textbooks. The formation of the common knowledge background of teachers and students is the guarantee of the free practice textbook reprocessing of the teacher-student community.
These Chinese scholars, based on the importance of vocabulary teaching, put forward their own views, strengthen English vocabulary teaching, help students master English vocabulary, and use the vocabulary effectively through cultural introduction.
