英汉在翻译过程中存在的差异-开题报告

With the close economic, trade, political and cultural exchanges between countries, translation has also become a cross-cultural translation in a disciplinary sense from people's initial perception that the mutual conversion between two different languages is no longer a literal translation in the past. However, English is an international common language, and the phenomenon of "Chinglish" often appears in the process of Chinese-English translation. This article is aimed at the phenomenon of "Chinglish" to explore the differences between Chinese and English in the translation process. 

Based on the relevant research literature in domestic, there are mainly the following viewpoints: Kong Xiangshu believes that culture influences people’s thinking in "The Impact of Differences in Chinese and English Thinking Modes on Translation", involving all aspects of people’s geography, history, religion, values, etc. Will cause differences in the translation process between Chinese and English. The lack of in-depth understanding of Western culture has led to the phenomenon of "Chinglish" in which improper words or literal translations completely misinterpret the meaning of the original text in the translation process. The author believes that we cannot simply regard the relationship between language and culture as the relationship between the part and the whole. Due to the existence of cultural differences, the former is more complicated than the latter. Language is the carrier and container in the process of cultural development, and there is a close relationship between the two, mutual influence and interaction. To achieve effective cross-cultural communication, it is necessary to fully understand the cultural background of the two languages and their commonalities and differences. Respect the differences of language, adjust one's own thinking mode in the translation process, restore the cultural context on the basis of tolerance and understanding, and carry out appropriate translation.

Secondly, according to the relevant foreign research literature, the conversion between the two languages is carried out in a small translation unit when translating from English to Chinese, to study the language characteristics, sentence structure, grammatical structure, and different language expression habits of each language. As Xiao and Hu said in Corpus-Based Studies of Translational Chinese in English–Chinese Translation (2015), translation between two languages is not only achieved by using high-frequency vocabulary commonly used by native speakers, but also requires understanding The cultural background of the country being translated and what the speaker actually wants to express.

In Comparison and Translation of Chinese and English Sentence Order, Zhu Liyun analyzes the differences in sentence structure between English and Chinese translations, which are mainly reflected in the different positions of the attributive and adverbial in the sentence. By comparing the structure of the two languages, you can better understand the problems that should be paid attention to in translation, and avoid grammatical flaws, resulting in unreasonable word order and not understanding the actual meaning expressed by the translator. To clarify the difference in word order structure between Chinese and English will help improve the learning of Chinese and English and the mutual translation between Chinese and English.
