颜色文化中汉英意义的比较开题报告

Learning a language can reflect the culture of a nation and at the same time be influenced by the culture. Among the linguistic factors, vocabulary can best reflect a nation's culture. Therefore, understanding the cultural differences between English words and Chinese words is very important for cross-cultural communication.In intercultural communication, due to the differences in cultural and historical backgrounds between English and Chinese, there are also differences in the use and understanding of color words. This paper compares the connotations of the main color words in two different cultures in order to understand their meanings in English learning.

Introduction

Chinese and English are very different from each other in many national languages. They are quite different in expression and character structure. Each national language has its own history of development, reflecting its own living habits, ways of thinking, regional customs, religious beliefs, historical changes and so on. The great difference between Chinese and English just proves the great difference between Chinese and Western culture.Color is closely related to human life and is an important field for human understanding the world. In the human language, color words show unique charm and make people sit up and take notice. English and Chinese have different language habits and customs, and the ways and words to express colors are also different, namely, the understanding and use of the same color are also different. With the continuous development of human civilization, the expression of color has also been enriched accordingly, and its meaning has derived from the original meaning of some simple color, thus making human language more vivid and colorful. Only by understanding the background knowledge of English and Chinese culture and mastering the deep meaning of color words in the two languages can we carry out more effective and smooth communication. This paper discusses the chemistry of Chinese and English color words from both semantic and pragmatic aspect.
