I. literature review

1、domestic research status

 There are four theories in the field of functional translation studies in China:

（1) "information text"

Information texts emphasize content. The purpose of texts is to convey facts and information. The types of texts include news, textbooks, and all literature in the fields of Humanities and social sciences. Therefore, the translator should accurately understand the original text, ensure that the language is concise and clear, as far as possible to convey the original information.

(2) Emotional texts, which emphasize form, belong to works with high artistry and aim at achieving aesthetic effects, such as novels, poems and dramas. The translator should try to reproduce the text form and aesthetic form of the original text and be faithful to the author's personal style.

(3) The reinfection of infected text aims to stimulate the recipient to produce specific reactions or take specific actions by conveying certain messages, including advertising, publicity, rules and regulations. When a translator encounters this kind of text, he should follow the principle of faithfulness in translation while "recreating" it.

(4) Audio-media text is a kind of text with music or pictures as its medium, including songs, audio (picture) advertisements and so on. In translation, we should give consideration to both hearing and visual effects. According to Rice's text typology theory, most texts are multi-functional composite texts dominated by a certain function. Different functions may exist at the same time, or may appear at different stages of the text, but always dominated by a certain function (Zhu Zhiyu, 2004). Therefore, translators need to be flexible and choose different translation strategies and methods according to different text types.

2、overseas research status    

    Rice concludes three basic functional text types: content-centered informative text, form-centered expressive text and demand-centered operational text. Informative text. Information-based text pays attention to the content of the text and the facts or concrete objects reflected in the text. Therefore, the translator's primary task in translation is to overcome the linguistic and cultural differences, to use concise and clear language, and to embody the information of the original text as much as possible. Expressive text. Such texts are intended to convey the aesthetic or artistic form of the original text, and Rice suggests a translation method of "identification" or "imitation". Operational text. This kind of textual concern triggers the behavioral response of the "recipient", appealing or persuading the text recipient to take some action. Adaptation or adaptation can be adopted in translation. Skopostheorie is the dominant theory of functional translation theory.

Rice's student, Fermer, first put forward Skopostheorie in his book The Framework of General Translation Theory. It usually refers to the purpose of the target language text "every translation is directed at its intended readers, because translation means that the target-oriented readers in the target language culture create the text in a specific way and purpose". The theory of teleology is based on behaviorism. Fimmel believes that translation is a purposeful act, not a text conversion between pure languages. The purpose of translation is derived from the translation requirements or translation requirements prescribed by the initiator of translation activities. The feasibility of the "translation program" depends on the cultural environment of the target language rather than the cultural environment of the source language. Skopos theory has three rules: the goal rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule. There are three kinds of explanations of purpose: the translator's purpose, the communicative purpose of the translation and the purpose of using some special means of translation. The principle of coherence requires that the translation must conform to the criterion of intralingual coherence, that is, the translation must be understood by the recipient and meaningful in the target culture and in the communicative environment in which the translation is used. The principle of faithfulness is to maintain interlingual coherence between the source text and the target text, i.e. to be faithful to the source text, while the degree and form of faithfulness are determined by the target text and the translator's understanding of the source text. Interlingual coherence belongs to interlingual coherence. These two coherence rules belong to the target Faber simultaneously. The rule of purpose is a universally applicable rule. Coherence rule and fidelity rule are special rules.

Translation Behavior Theory: Based on communicative theory and behavioral theory, Jastachmantari puts forward the theory of translation behavior, which distinguishes the two concepts of "translation" and "translation behavior". The former refers to the use of the source text in a narrow sense, while the latter refers to everything the translator does for translation, including giving cultural or technical references in the process of translation. Translation is a "purposeful interactive behavior". The participants involved in this behavior include the initiator, the client, the original text producer, the translator, the target language receiver and the target language user. Translation is to achieve "cross culture" and "cross language communicative behavior". Translation is a process of text processing. Emphasizing the communicative function of the target text in the target culture, the translation depends on whether it serves its function properly in the target culture.
