At present, the primary school English education research is mainly focused on three aspects, such as feasibility study, practical research and theoretical research. Feasibility study mainly focuses on the development of primary school English goal is what, primary and secondary school English can be a good convergence and whether the primary school English with the opening of the conditions, etc.. Practical research mainly focuses on primary school English teaching materials, teaching ideas, teaching methods and the construction of teaching model. These two aspects of research has obtained some achievements, but also a lot of problems to be further in-depth. As for the theoretical research, it is still relatively weak.
(1) A study on the goal of primary school English training
The overall goal of curriculum standards, which started in 2001, is to cultivate students' comprehensive language ability, emphasize the cultural and emotional aspects of the training. With the introduction of the new curriculum standards, there have been a variety of interpretations on it, which is mainly reflected in the two aspects of cultural education and cultural education of the debate. Wang Li (2005) believes that the advantage of the English class in primary schools is not in the students' mastery of the language knowledge, but mainly in the emotional category ". Wang Chang (2008) believes that the convergence problem of primary and secondary schools is a common problem faced by many countries in the course of opening a foreign language, and it will be a problem for a long time to be faced and to be solved. To deal with the problems of cohesion in English in primary and secondary schools in China, Fann Wong (2000) put forward, and the primary school English Teaching "one-stop" planning, from the teaching syllabus, teaching materials, evaluation system, teaching mode and teaching aspects of the work, good English teaching. The plan of "one dragon" has been put forward, which has aroused the concern of the academic and educational circles for the convergence of English teaching. The national and the provinces and cities have established a further research on the topic of English teaching and learning. Although some areas and schools have achieved a small range of convergence of successful experience, but there are still a lot of problems to be solved in primary and secondary school English cohesion.
(3) A study on the conditions of primary school English Teaching
Although primary school English has been set up for many years, the study shows that the condition of rural education is poor, regional development is not balanced and the situation is still very serious. For example: the quantity and quality of the teachers are not guaranteed, the teaching resources and equipment are scarce, the curriculum is unreasonable, the evaluation mechanism is not appropriate, the selection of teaching materials is not reasonable. The study of a few teachers put forward more closely with the practice, such as the class hour cannot be guaranteed, parents lack of awareness, how to convert teaching and evaluation model to teach elementary school English, etc.. In order to solve the current situation of the unbalanced development of primary school English education, the researchers put forward that the country should promote the standardization of the basic education. Some scholars have pointed out that, is not conducive to better and faster development, should be balanced development, rather than the average development.
The primary school English teaching situation discussed in many articles, but is often confined to a certain area, one aspect of the problem of short length, is not comprehensive and profound discussion on primary school English teaching development in china.
