一、文献综述
In recent years, English education is obviously trend to younger age in China. And the age of English teaching in primary schools has always been a controversial subject. Some experts agree that it is better to start English teaching as younger as possible while others think it is no need to start too young because the influence is not obviously to learn English one or two years later. Also the later think the loss outweighs the gain if learning English too young. 
Wilder Penfield & Lamar Roberts, Neuroscientist from Montreal, They said in their works 《Speech and Brain Mechanisms》1959: Language learning has a critical period. It starts from birth and ends about 9 to 12 years old or at puberty. Once you miss this stage, it is very difficult for people to master a language. Eric Lennebery also mentioned Critical Period in 《Biological Foundations of Language》year 1967.
Experts also proved the relationship between age and English learning through test. Johnson& Newport did research in 1989. They investigated 46 Chinese and Korean people who migrated to the United States at different ages. The respondent was divided into 4 groups according to age. Age 3-7, age 8-10, age 11-15, age 17-39. The people required to take part in the judgment of English grammar. The results showed that age is an important factor to determine the test scores. The result told age and the test scores into negative growth.
Beside age, it is also very important to realize that primary English education is not for Examination-oriented education. Primary English teaching mainly aim to stimulate children’s interest in learning English. There is a proverb in the United Kingdom:"Education must be run." 2001 Liu Dao Yi in “JIAOYU SHIJIAN YU YANJIU “ also said: the aim of primary English education is to stimulate students' interest in learning English, and to cultivate their positive attitude towards English learning, to develop children’s sense of language, and encourage students use English for simple daily communication.
On author’s opinion, primary English education is the most important stage in whole English learning period. English teaching experts, as well as primary school English teachers need to work together, learn more from the advanced experience to make out a feasible way for Chinese primary English education.
