化学习对语言学习能力的培养——外语词汇文化及隐喻文化

Abstract

Recent years, many practitioners have devoted themselves to the study of language and culture, like the American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson’s simple sentence ”Language is archives of history”. Vocabulary is the basic element of language, having deep relationship with culture, such as idiom, Lexical, metaphor. Conceptual metaphor permeates our every language, so, the semantic of some vocabularies based on cognitive metaphorical thinking, Lakoff and Johnson put forward conceptual metaphor theory in the book ”The Metaphors We Live” (1980), suggesting that metaphors not only make our thoughts more vivid and interesting but that they actually structure our perceptions and understanding. This paper proposed the cultural learning about exploration of vocabulary culture and vocabulary metaphorical culture, which playing a key role in foreign language learning, it can help language learners to avoid inadequate application and misunderstanding in foreign language learning which are caused by cultural differences.
