1．American Culture Research

Almost all American Culture scholars believe that the United States is a Multi-racial country and multicultural theory is the only way to study United States. However, there are considerable disagreements between its meaning and practice. The Euro-centrism advocates a single American culture based on Western values, with the aim of preserving the unity of a Multi-racial state. African-centricity emphasizes the ethnicity nature of American culture which will lead to the extremes of racism. The multicultural debates largely reflect the divergent views on the composition of the culture. At present, the change of humanistic education in the United States is the proof of multicultural development.

In addition, for diversity, talking about ethnicity is not enough; we must talk about religion. Religious diversity is very important. Figures from 2008 Survey show Christian accounted for 78% of the population. The United States is a Multi-racial country, but it is also dominated by Christianity. But Christianity has Protestant and Catholic. 51% of Americans consider themselves as Protestant. Americans often find that the Chinese consider Protestant as "Christian", but Catholic Church is also a part of Christianity. About a quarter of Americans believe in Roman Catholicism. Christianity is originally a pluralistic religion with many different denominations. Mormonism developed in the nineteenth century as a uniquely American-born sect, as well as Jehovah's Witness, also a special sect of Christianity. Orthodox is also Christian and the number is increasing with majority from the Russian immigrants. In addition to Christianity, Judaism is the second largest, nearly 5%; Buddhism accounts for less than 1%, but in the future it will certainly be more than 1%, may exceed 2% or 3%, because immigrants and many native Americans began to believe in Buddhism. Muslims are also very few, less than 0.4%; Hindus are few, but increased rapidly, mainly from India increased immigrants. Non-denominational accounts for 16%. These people are not without religion faith. They may have faith in God, but they do not participate in an organization of worship activities or the church. Atheists are very, very few, less than 2%.

As the largest multinational and multi-ethnic immigrant country in the world, the United States has experienced more than 200 years of development since founding. The ethnic theory has evolved from Anglo-compliance theory, melting pot theory, multiculturalism theory, cultural generation theory and civilization conflict theory. By analyzing the historical evolution and practical gains and losses of the five major ethic theories, this paper draws the corresponding enlightenment of dealing with ethnic relations and solving ethnic problems.

From the historical evolution and practical gains and losses of American ethnic theory, we can see that the success of American ethnic theory lies in the settlement of ethnic centrifugal tendencies brought by ethnic heterogeneity and the balance of pluralism, not only to respect the diversity of ethnic cultures, but also to integrate pluralism into unity. The unity of the Anglo-compliance theory, the fusion of the melting pot theory, the pluralism of multiculturalism theory, the dual recognition of the cultural generation theory, and the American belief of civilization conflict theory are all trying to find a balance between monism and pluralism in dealing with ethnic relations. Pluralism is not only the history of the United States, but also the main problem that the United States is facing to. The diversity of immigrants constitutes the diversity of the American nation, and the diversity of society constitutes the diversity of American culture. In the United States national policy, pluralism integrates into unity through the law and system, and unity creates a good development environment for Pluralism. Balanced development of pluralism and unity is more able to strengthen cultural ties and exchanges between the various ethnics, enhance the construction of national community and shape the national identity, thus it stabilizes the development of American ethnic relations.

2. Zootopia Literatures

Since its release, Zootopia won a high reputation with its well-made. The film tells the story of Rabbit Judy's dream of becoming an animal policeman in a modern animal city by working hard. In order to help others and prove herself, she is determined to solve a mysterious case. In pursuit of the truth, Judy forced the fox Nick who made a living by cheating in the animal city and finally they become good partners in the difficult investigation process. Disney uses compact but humorous narrative to present the human society allegorically in front of the audience, and also highlights the cultural values of multi-ethnic coexistence and self-realization.

The film’s name “Zootopia” is the combination of “Zoo” and “Utopia”. “Utopia” was originally proposed by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, meant “no place” or “good place”. Thomas Moore, the founder of Utopian Socialism, in his famous Utopia fictionalized an ideal society in which property is shared and everyone is equal, and everyone can live according to his own thoughts. In other words, this is a paradise without oppression and class disputes. The "Animal City" in the film also reflects this design: all animals live together regardless of race; carnivorous animals play with herbivorous animals; each animal can live in its ideal way. But with the development of the story, there is undercurrent in the Animal City beneath the "Utopia" appearance, and the concept of race is still firmly imprisoned animals. Under the conspiracy of the Assistant Mayor, a female sheep, the ingrained race concept of carnivorous and herbivorous animals are stimulated. Public opinion claims that carnivorous animals can not eliminate the “DNA with beast", and threaten herbivores, causing a huge panic within the city, animal society is facing division. The harmony of the animals was so easily crushed. The existence of “Zootopia”, whether it is encouraging "Utopia", or ironic "Anti-Utopia", gives each audience a profound thought. The film's value orientation is very clear: carnivorous or herbivorous animals should lay down their prejudices and live harmoniously; rabbits do not need to carry "anti-Fox spray" and sheep do not need to stay away from the tiger. Each animal has the right to enjoy the transport that fits to its own body and is free to live in the animal city.
