中西文化差异对跨文化交际的影响开题报告

1. The formation of cultural differences.

Culture is amount of material wealth and spiritual wealth created by human beings, preserved from the process of social development in history. Nowadays, with the development of globalization, people from different cultural backgrounds need to work together and communicate with each other. Cultural differences have become an obstacle to people's communication. In the process of economic globalization, there are many enterprises going out and many western enterprises coming in. The communication between China and Western countries is becoming more and more important. Though the development of modern science and technology has shortened the time and space distance between people, but it can’t shorten the psychological distance between people. Due to different historical origins and social customs, different countries and nations have formed specific cultural backgrounds, which in turn form different value orientations, ways of thinking, social norms and pragmatic rules. These factors bring potential obstacles, inefficient communication, mutual misunderstanding and possible cultural conflicts to cross-cultural communication. It will bring unnecessary disaster to human beings. For thousands of years, due to the long geographical distance and inconvenient cultural exchange between China and the west, there is a big gap between Chinese and Western civilizations. It is difficult for different cultural backgrounds to communicate with each other.

2. The main aspects of cultural differences concluded by former researches.

Culture is not an individual characteristic, but a psychological process shared by many people with the same social experience and education. Different groups, different countries or regions of people, this common psychological process will be different, because they have always received different education, have different society and work, so they have different ways of thinking.

Cultural differences can also be said to be cultural diversity, mainly in the following aspects.

First, different countries have different political sciences and legal factor. Political law generally refers to the policies, decrees and behavior norms enforced by the government.

Second, different countries have different moral concepts. The morality is main factor to make people have the concepts of good and evil, honor and shame, justice and injustice through education and public opinion, and gradually form certain habits and traditions to guide and control people's behavior.

Third, different countries have different languages. Writing and artistic factors, different nationalities, the differences often make communication errors, resulting in misunderstanding.

Fourth, different countries have different values, customs, religious beliefs and lifestyle factors. Value concept is people's overall view and evaluation of a thing. Above all that is people's basic belief and judgment.

Fifth, different countries have different national education and national temperament. Different educational systems and ways not only have different ways of imparting knowledge, but also have different ways of thinking. What's more, they have formed people's different values, which have an impact on people's behavior.

Sixth, different countries have different social organizational structure and institutional factors. The state of a social organization structure and system, not only depends on the cultural background of the society, has historical evolution and specific habits, but also is the condensation and embodiment of a social culture.

3. Improving cross-cultural communication ability is the way to avoid influence of culture differences.

Intercultural communication has become a hot topic of public concern. It is necessary to explore the specific manifestations of the social and cultural differences between China and the West in cross-cultural communication. Absorbing the advantages of Chinese and western social culture in scientific perspective, abandon and correct deficiencies. Analyzing the differences between Chinese and Western cultures and understanding each other's culture is conducive to improving cross-cultural communication ability. Cross cultural communication, as a new frontier science is produced in this era. Undoubtedly, the research in this field is essential to meet the needs of such an increasingly developed cross cultural international communication and interpersonal communication, which is great significance in cultural exchange and economic trade.
