1. Purpose and significance of writing this paper

As time flies, someone or something has gone away in our life, but still have something give us profound impression. For example pride and prejudice, in which the relationship of the money and Marriage, money is playing an important role in our daily life, especial in 1813 , women didn’t have their own positions or  rights in social and family, even they had no right to inherit. Women had to get married with a rich man in order to improve their life, however, the man who was rich or with high level of social status , regardless of handsome or not handsome , he wanted to get married with a women who was beautiful or equal social status with him, this resulted in the money and social status, instead of love were the top priority items that the people considered .Back to our modern ,women can live by themselves in most countries, even some women can work better than man in some areas, So we should cherish the opportunity, and choose a partner who can live with us together until old age in modern times.

2. Main plot of the Story

There are four couples described in this novel. The first is the marriage of Elizabeth and Darcy, whose marriage was considered the perfect marriage under money and social status. Although Elizabeth was born in a family of middle class with not much money, she is honest, lively and well- educated; Darcy was born in a rich family, he looks down upon people who are lower than him. Elizabeth and Darcy had opposite character and different economic status, finally they reduce the demands of economic status by many times of communication and contact and correct their characters respectively for the love, and then they come together. The second is marriage of Charlotte and Collins, whose marriage was considered as a contraction between money and marriage. Charlotte got the money from Collins who inherits much money from Mr. Bennet and the higher social position with Collins. Collins was also so fully satisfied, narrow-minded sycophant. When Elizabeth refused his proposal, he turned to Charlotte immediately. They got their marriage with money but no love. The third is the marriage of Bentley and Jane, whose marriage also was considered good marriage under the money and marriage. They had different economic status, but they are with similar character; finally they got a successful marriage. Their marriage was based on love rather than money. The fourth is the marriage of Lydia and Wickham, whose marriage was considered the worst marriage under the money and marriage. Lydia, without much money, is reckless to people and ignorance; Wickham, who does not have any money, is cunning to people and shallow. Their marriage was based on the beautiful face and the lust, which must be destined to failure. Among these four couple stories under the money and marriage, only the marriage of Elizabeth and Darcy is the author agrees on.

3. The realism of the marriage 

There is no romantic love in Jane Austen`s composition, in which they always connected the marriage problems to social and economic status, what she writes most was related with the economic problem and survival problem; The marriage did not exist as the result of Love, but the need of economic. The novel reflected the real life of the people`s inner world and the relationship between people and people in different times and different economic status.

Many young people get married for the love in modern times, regardless of boyfriend or girlfriend‘s economic conditions and their parents’ crosscurrent. As time goes on, they have to consider living essentials of daily life, as the growth of the Children. Solving the problem of crowd, they have to buy a big house. At that time they found that money played an important role in life. The couple works hard to get more money so that live apart with their family members. Under these circumstances, the marriage has no any quality. So I think that if you want to get a marriage of long-term and well quality, which must be built on the basis of enough money.

4. Existing researches on Pride and Prejudice

Recently, there are many researches about Pride and Prejudice from all aspects. For example,Fenyi Liu analyzes that the pride and Prejudice is the most popular novel by Jan Austin, The features of the British society at late 18th and Early19th Centuries were vividly reflected by comparison and satire. In Britain in the 19th century, the famous historian, poet and political writer Thomas Maclay analyzes that Pride and Prejudice is not only discussed the big point of view from small thing, observed a large range from a small angle, but also are vividly portrayed for the lives of ordinary people. I think that Pride and Prejudice is the most satisfactory among novels of Jane Austen.The above are only a part of researches on this novel, and of course, there are many other researches make analysis from other perspectives.So different idea comes from different people.

5. Prototype of Pride and Prejudice 

Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen the earliest completion, which is written in 1796, named First impression, and then completed August 1797.Her father was moved after looking, deliberately let Thomas Camille del published, but publisher refused, makes them very disappointed. Later, she rewrote the "First Impression" and changed its name to "Pride and Prejudice" and meantime was published in January 1813.

1. The battle of property and love -View on the marriage of Pride and Prejudice

The author view from detail description between Darcy and Elizabeth, Elizabeth refuses Darcy’s proposal because she thinks Darcy is pride and looks down upon others who have little money. And then they touch each other, they get together to marry. Jane and Bingley love each other at their first meeting but because of their character shortcomings and other obstacles, they break up. After eliminating their misunderstanding, they married. Therefore the author confirmed the point: love is more than important in marriage. The marriage is painful without love. And he also describes Collins and Charlotte life after marriage to prove the view point: Love is main theme of marriage.

2. Money and Marriage---Pride and Prejudice

The author locate Pride and Prejudice written between the end of Eighteenth century  and the beginning of nineteenth century which is capitalism development from the initial stage from industrialization, to analyze Darcy and Elizabeth’s love, Elizabeth loved Darcy from the first meeting since Darcy’s beautiful garden to think Elizabeth loves Darcy’s money is because the times they lived. Money and social status is two important points to influence them to choose their marriage. Finally confirm its point money influence the bourgeois martial values.
