Literature Review

Family education is parents or other members consciously educated for children, also is the most important cycle in all society of each education link. There are many types of family education in the world and each of them influences the children’s future life. There are great differences in the family education, the aims of education, the view of culture tradition, concepts of education between America and China. 

From the literatures collected, we can find that foreign research status is abroad study the way of family education is the main focus on the understanding for family education and influence. As the movie, the blind side tells us: Family education is the main link of children education. In Western society, it is the responsibility for parents to encourage their children to do the hard work. American education is States Dewey's "education is life, education is growing" thoughts carried through results. That is to say, they aim to cultivate their children’s independence; they create a lot of chances for their children to practice, to improve themselves. Except taking care of their children’s safe, they allow them to make decision all by themselves.

Compared to America, in China many scholars are also involved in a study about the cause of family education differences between America and China .Among them, the famous scholar, Zhilan Zeng in Journal of Taiyuan Normal University   mentioned that there is a fundamental difference in the concept of education, the two countries in the mode of education are different. Chinese concept of education displays in: most families control all of the things of their children; they think they are still not mature enough, lack of ability to make decisions. Due to most families in China just have one child, many parents deal with everything of their children, that made their children rely on their parents, can not be independent, when they meet some difficulties or some unexpected things happened, they can do nothing but complain. In their social intercourse, Chinese parents worry about their children get hurts from others or make some bad friends in the society, so they do not want their children contact with outside a lot. They warn their children not taking with strangers; they should always have a high sense of protection. 

Many researchers on family education differences between America and China made a comprehensive and detailed analysis, education mode and education purpose have done in-depth research. Through collecting the relative and useful profiles, we have get a better and through understanding of the differences between the Chinese families and American families and find the different aspects of the differences .Through comparing the difference between America and China Family Education, the writer hopes to this paper can provide some helpful suggestions for China family education.
