大学英语教育存在的问题和出路ProblemsandSoluionsofCollegeEnglishEducaion_开题报告

With the rapid development of China's economy and acceleration of globalization. English applications are becoming more and more universal in our daily life. It is playing a more and more important role in our study and work. English as a basic skill like driving, there are more and more people start to learn it and have a dream to be good at English. So that English education has been taken a extensive attention. However, many university graduates are still very poor in English. Although they have studied English for many years before they graduated from university, but it seems like they still have no enough confidence in English applications. Many of them ever are unable to open mouth to speak a correct simple sentence, let alone communicate with foreigners in English. English is a language tool, but in most of the universities student learn Enghlish only in order to obtain an English grade certification. At present, there are many problems in college English education, which leads to these problems there are not only reasons in teaching methods but also in teaching direction. How to make English education can meet the needs of the current social development is an very important and urgent thing

Currently, many of the problems reflected in college English education in our country are that students have no enough interest in learning Englist and lack of confidence. Teachers strive to improve students' English level, but they can not find a particularly good way. And the current college English education still remain in the language of knowledge (words and grammar) and language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) mechanical training level. The English learning is limited to textbook knowledge, a lot of content has been out of the rapid development of the current society. Students learn a lot of language knowledge, but still do not understand what foreigners speak, and can't express themselves smoothly. For many students learning English the only purpose is to get the corresponding grade certificate. English learning and communication is limited to happen during the classroom and lack of extracurricular communication. Student have no enough opportunity to use English, resulting in poor application in English.

1. Problems in college English education.

1.1 College English textbooks are old generation and lacking of practicality.

1.2 College English teaching methods lack diversity and flexibility

1.3 The college English education system is a traditional teaching model.

1.4 students are poor in English practical application.

1.5 teaching evaluation system is not perfect.

1. Exploring the way out of college English education.

2.1 enrich and improve the English teaching materials. Textbook content should be lively, comprehensive and enlightening. That should be not limited to the contents of the syllabus

2.2 Try a variety of teaching methods to stimulate students interest in English learning. 

2.3 Adapt to student as a leading role, in order to cultivate students' ability to study and think independently.

2.4 improve the teaching evaluation system.

2.5 Change the English assessment method for students.

2.6 Create an English learning environment, strengthen students' extracurricular English training, improve English application ability.
