文献综述
With the deepening of opening up and the introduction of a large number of outstanding foreign films, the channels and forms of Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges have become more diverse. The in-depth study of subtitle translation of film and television has brought a rich cultural feast to the Chinese audience. The activity and development of translation activities are accompanied by the needs of social development, and their purposes and methods are different at different historical stages. Today, with the continuous development of the international society, the research on subtitle translation of film and television works can help people understand the content and meaning of the film, show the expressive power of Chinese and the difference between English and Chinese. Translation is an important activity to promote cross-cultural communication and understanding.

Film and television translation is an emerging field of translation, especially the translation of subtitles, which has higher requirements in terms of logic, artistic sense and appeal. The Chinese translation has a long history, but few people are involved in film and television translation. Because cross-cultural exchanges are becoming more and more extensive and in-depth, more and more domestically produced film and television works have rushed out of the country, and foreign translations have also swarmed in, which is dazzling. There are a wide range of topics such as cartoons, cultural, thrillers, and horror films. The output of the works has increased year by year, and the people involved are both men, women, and children. The translation of film and television works is very good. Film translation is an emerging field, especially the translation of subtitles, which is different from other forms. It has higher requirements for the logic, artistry, and appeal of language. Compared with pure literary translation, it has higher popularity and extensiveness. Therefore, the real difficulty in the translation of film and television works is not the rigor and rigor of vocabulary or articles, but the most common and authentic language.

Today, with the rapid development of social media, there are exchanges and integrations between film and television cultures in different countries. The research on subtitle translation of film and television works has increasingly highlighted its important significance of the times, which greatly promoted the exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures and conformed to the development of globalization. The study of translation helps to better reflect the characteristics of each language, expressively conveys the meaning of the film, stimulates people's interest and attention to the film industry, it also stimulates interest in foreign language literature and enlightenment in translation. . The study of subtitle translation of film and television works has closed the distance between the two cultures, while ensuring the authenticity of the language.

Research progress:
Foreign countries: The research on the subtitle translation of film and television works began in the West, and the experts who are active in the frontier of the field are mainly Western scholars. Western film and television translation research entered a period of rapid development in 1995, and related theoretical research increased significantly. The results of European scholars are particularly remarkable. Among them, Gambier can be said to be the leading figure in the field of film and television translation. His research covers a wide range of topics, and the classification, strategies, techniques, and audiences of different film and television translation. He conducted a detailed study of subtitle translation from the perspective of linguistics, studied how to translate idioms in film and television works, and was quite insightful in the teaching of subtitle translation. His research also includes how the Danish native language is affected by the popularity of English movies with dubbing and subtitles. In general, the related research on film translation in Europe has received some attention in recent years. The theoretical research has been carried out more extensively and deeply, and some consensus and norms have been formed in translation strategies, norms and quality control.

Domestic: In terms of the theory of subtitle translation of film and television works, compared with Western countries, China's start can be said to be later than the practice of film and television translation. So far, there has not been a systematic theory. The number of papers and monographs related to subtitle translation of film and television works can be said to be few and far between. Some of the more successful scholars are: 1. Professor Qian Shaochang of the School of Journalism and Communication at Shanghai International Studies University can be said to be the leading figure in the field of film and television translation in China. He pointed out the importance of film translation, and deeply analyzed the difference between the language of film and television works and literary works and written language, and summarized the five characteristics of the language of film and television works, namely: listening, comprehensive, instant, popular and no note. based on years of translation practice experience, he put forward seven experiences of film and television translation. It is believed that the “expressiveness” in “faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance” is most important in film and television translation. 2, Professor Ma Zhengqi of the School of International Communication of Communication University of China published the "Introduction to Film and TV Translation System", which is a monograph of film translation studies that is rare in recent years. 3. Professor Zhang Chunbai of the School of Foreign Languages of East China Normal University has been engaged in the research and practice of translation theory. He has translated nearly 300 films and TV dramas, including the familiar <Detective Hunt>, <Desire Street Car> and <Anna Karenina> and so on. 4. Prof. Li Yunxing, the director of the Institute of Translation Studies of the School of Foreign Languages of Tianjin University, published the “Subtitle Translation Strategy” in 2001, and studied the subtitle translation from the perspective of discourse translation theory. At present, China's film and television translation lacks relevant theoretical guidance. The academic status of film translation research still needs to be improved, and the relevant strategies and techniques of film and television translation still need to be studied in depth. I look forward to the early formation of our own theoretical system of film translation research.
