Thesis topic background:

The United States is a young country, which is less than 300 years old. The United States has no long history, no glorious past, no traditional culture; However, the United States has integrated and absorbed cultures from all over the world and formed its own unique cultural system. And now the American culture has been to one of the mainstream culture of the world.

American culture has many characteristics, for example：Inclusive, Humorous, Adventurous spirit, Personal heroism, American family values and so on. These cultural can be seen everywhere in American cartoon films. American animated film is one of the main method for propagate American cultural, it export American values through animated films and influence global culture. so studying American culture will better for us to development our own culture..

Research status:

The current, experts have done a lot of research on American Hollywood Cartoon films in China, The main research contents are The history and common cultural phenomena of American Cartoon films. For example：Litie’s 美国动画史, The main content of this article is the complete history of American animation from the late 19th century to the early 21st century, and introduction of the detail development history of more than 200 representative animation studios. And Zhongzhangsheng professor’s 20世纪美国文化断想, he made a detailed analysis of the common and outstanding culture in American film, he mentioned Inclusive, Personal heroism and so on.

PLA University of Foreign Language’s Professor Zhong mentioned in the article “20世纪美国文化断想”:  American culture in the 20th century is a culture of compatibility and enterprising. It is an open culture, but also a culture of tolerance. It is technology-led and individual-centered. These phenomena are vividly expressed in leading science and technology as well as economic status and military dominance.
