国内外研究情况概述

国外研究状态

   在20世纪初，随着计算机的问世，法国研究者们开始提出使用计算机进行翻译的想法。

20世纪60年代，美国研究发现机器翻译比比人工更耗时、质量更糟，更烧钱，应当注重更基础的计算机语言学（Computational Linguistics）研究，注重引入词典、翻译例句、人工等手段提升整体的翻译质量。

   20世纪70年代，计算机硬件技术的大幅度提高以及人工智能在自然语言处理上的应用，各种系统推出，如Weinder系统、Eurpotra多国语翻译系统等。

2013年来，随着深度的研究，人工神经网络的机器翻译逐渐兴起，翻译质量的问题相比之前，有了“跃进式”提升。

美国发明家、未来学家雷·科兹威尔在接受《赫芬顿邮报》采访时预言，到2029年机译的质量将达到人工翻译的水平。对于这一论断，学术界还存在很多争议。

国内研究状态

随着机器翻译的不断发展，各种人工翻译智能软件兴起，不少研究人员对今后机器翻译是否取代人工翻译展开激烈讨论，中国数学家、语言学家周海中在《机器翻译五十年》中指出: 指出:在人类尚未明了大脑是如何进行语言的模糊识别和逻辑判断的情况下，机译要想达到"信、达、雅"的程度是不可能的。这个观点指出了机器翻译的质量问题。

2017年12月份陈圣权讲座上指出，人工智能的发展成熟必然会带来新一轮的技术革新，并且这种革新最明显的便是神经机器翻译技术（NMT）的使用。NMT因其强大的数据中心使得机器越来越会说“人话”，越来越智能。

陈圣权认为，机器翻译的进步首先体现在效率方面，依托于强大的运算能力，机器翻译速度远超过人工翻译，可以做到“立等可取”；其次，机器翻译越来越没有“翻译腔”了，满足了基本的可读性和可用性的需求，让人类可以摆脱简单、机械的翻译工作，投入到真正有创造性的翻译工作上。

总之，对于机器翻译在当今翻译界的发展研究具有非常重要的意义和价值。

Abstract

In the digital revolution, the cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence have evolved by leaps and bounds, which has deeply affected all aspects of human production and life. Whether it is the stunning display for a particular brand was shown the machine translation on the "two sessions", or the media report regarding the news for reaching human level of the Microsoft news translation; whether it is the download experience of many translation apps, the first fair PK competition of the Artificial simultaneous translation and the Machine simultaneous translation, the new generation of information technologies have changed, such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence etc, have changed the face of translation and the identity, status, and power of translators. And in recent years, the great progresses of the artificial intelligence and machine translation have attracted much public attention. Meanwhile, the translator training and studies will be brought about unprecedented opportunities and immense challenges. Some commentators point out that translation practice, translator education and translation studies are experiencing a “technical change”. Digital information technology has become an indispensable part of practice, training and studies in translation. Some people shouted that human translation would be replaced by machine translation soon. But some people disagree that the algorithm and computing power of the machine are still very limited. It is too early to say that machine translation replaces human translation. Others feel calm and think that the machine is an extension of human beings. No matter how developed the artificial intelligence, it is eventually human wisdom crystallization. The human subjectivity and initiative will not be changed, so there is no need to be scared by the progress of the artificial intelligence and machine translation. On March 9, 2017, during the two sessions, the Chinese reporters interviewed Mr Huang Youyi, who is the member of the CPPCC members and executive vice president of the China Translation Association, on the issue of the training of translator for the “One Belt, One Road”. When talking about the topic for progressive artificial intelligence and machine translation, Mr. Huang Youyi said that he has been paying attention to this development, but he replied that the artificial intelligence big data should be required to combine with the language translation ability. Which it features is larger data, and faster machine translation. However, the current data is not big enough, the machine translation has not fully played its roles, there are still many aspects should rely on human power. Machine translate as a draft, and then manually modified, but it happens a lot. It can`t be done if the machine completely replace people and 100% translations can be used at moment. But it is only limited to specific fields. After reported, this triggered the public hot. This article refers to the discussion of the translation experts to explore and study the impact of machine translation on human translation and future development, I would like to further analyze and explore the influence of machine translation in this industry and the its relationship with humans. With the continuous development of digital information technology, machine translation has become an inevitable trend in the digital age. This paper is based on the discussion about the rise of the machine translation, application, the issues discovery and improvement of machine translation problems, its demand on society and all of world, what factors influence the machine translation, its relationship between machine translation and human translation, How to impact on the translation industry, and the future development.  In this translation industry line, the development of machine translation and human translation should be become a massive translation to the future direction. How to make full service for the translation industry with rapid development and fully use the computer-assisted translation, the question will still require us to do more experiments and exploration.

Mr. Wei Yongpeng, the head of machine translation technology at Beijing Zhizhi Yunfan, said: “It is obvious that machine translation can't replace professional translators. However, the current development of artificial intelligence is change enough to the translation industry and training. 

The era of man-machine dance is coming! We should learn more and constantly innovate about machines, especially cross-language and cross-cultural. We should continue to improve the efficiency to work with the help of these machines. To really become to make China's go out and contribute to the implementation of the “Belt and Road” strategy, and contribute to the realization of China's revival dream.
