If we want to talk about the theory of second language acquisition, we have to talk about Professor Stephen D Krashen, Professor Krashen focused on the study of second language acquisition and published two monographs in the early 1980s: Second Language Acquisition and second language learning (1981) and principles and practice in second language acquisition (1982); and published two monographs in 1982 The natural approach was published in collaboration with T. Terrell. In these three works, Professor Krashen systematically expounds his language acquisition theory to us by analyzing the process of second language acquisition.
Children's English Enlightenment education is different from adult English teaching, teachers need to have a solid English professional background, and also need to have a comprehensive discipline background of pedagogy and child psychology. However, in the current market of preschool English education in China, teachers who attach importance to and have such qualities are scarce. Although teachers with bachelor's degree have a solid English foundation and can provide good language demonstration for children, they generally do not understand the characteristics of early childhood education. They generally teach English as a discipline, which deviates from the principles and objectives of early childhood education. However, the English foundation of junior college graduate kindergarten teachers is weak. They often use Chinese instead of English in teaching, which provides less opportunities for children to imitate and learn, so it is difficult to create a good English learning environment.
In the process of learning English, children often lack of language environment. In fact, children's understanding of the second language is not very profound, and their sensitivity to language is not as good as that of adults. Therefore, children need more English language environment when learning English, In fact, children should improve their English expression ability in a specific environment. However, many kindergartens can not provide a good language learning environment. Compared with language expression, language learning is actually a progressive development ability. Therefore, children need this kind of language environment as an important platform when they contact with English, In order to help children further improve their English expression level. This is a practical problem to be solved in the process of children's English teaching.
On the other hand, when learning English, they are often relatively unfamiliar. They are not familiar with English. They are not willing to cooperate with teachers' teaching process and various language games in the process of mastering English. Therefore, children's enthusiasm is not fully mobilized, and a series of learning problems appear in the process of learning, Therefore, in the process of English teaching, the theory of second language acquisition can help children further understand the characteristics of language learning and encourage them to actively learn English
Thirdly, in the process of English Teaching in kindergartens, the main purpose is to make children familiar with English and let English enter into children's life and learning process. Therefore, when children learn English, teachers often help children further contact with English through various ways, It is often because the specific teaching process also evolved into the cultivation of children to play games, and lost the purpose of English teaching, so the goal is not strong. In the language game, the influence of English language atmosphere is not strengthened. As a result, many children only know English as a subject, but they don't know some specific expressions of English, For the overall development of children, there is no positive role.
Therefore, from the above three aspects, it can be seen that the current English Teaching in kindergartens fails to grasp the characteristics of second language acquisition, especially to further deepen the gap between children's languages. Children do not really understand the positive role of English as a language, and their accumulated English expression is relatively small, Therefore, children are relatively passive in the process of English learning. In the process of English teaching, kindergarten teachers do not fully respect the laws of children's learning and language teaching. In essence, children will grow up, or excessively ignore children's learning needs. Therefore, from the perspective of the whole teaching effect, kindergartens lack the atmosphere of English teaching, And the application of second language acquisition theory is relatively less, so children have some difficulties in mastering this language.
