A. 文献综述

Since June 24, 2011, Hangzhou West Lake cultural landscape was included in the world heritage list, Hangzhou's international popularity has been further improved. With the increasingly frequent cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, people have put forward higher and higher requirements for translation. If only the information of the original can be basically conveyed in the early translation work, the requirements for translation are far more than that.

Referring to the discussion of translation by scholars at home and abroad, it is believed that translation is not only at the level of language, but also at the level of culture. It is agreed that translation without culture has no soul.Professor Wang Kefei believes that translation events all have their social and cultural backgrounds. In his translation history of culture, he stressed that "culture and its exchange are the origin of translation, translation is the product of cultural exchange, and translation activities cannot be separated from culture."Professor Bassnett, a famous translation theorist, has put forward a new perspective on the research of translation theory since the 1990s.Translation is not only a pure language behavior, but also a culture in which the language producing the translation is located. Professor Xie Tianzhen pointed out in the book "Medio-translatology" that "cultural image condenses the wisdom of each nation and the crystallization of historical culture Cultural symbols have a relatively fixed and unique cultural meaning, a little with rich and far-reaching associations. As soon as people mention them, they immediately understand each other, and it is easy to achieve ideological communication."Newmark, a famous English translator's communicative translation is also "intended to make the target readers get the effect as close to the original readers as possible". 

From the domestic journals, good image translation can promote the spread of tourism and other cultures in China. For example, Du bingyue's "discussing the translation of cultural images in tourism translation", Feng quangong and Gu Tao of Zhejiang University's "Research on the translation landscape of tourist attractions -- Taking the West Lake wind scenic spot in Hangzhou as an example", all of which emphasize the importance of cultural image translation, if the culture is lost and the original cultural image distorted, it will make the tourists feel that there is a flaw in beauty, a regret for the lost pearl, and sometimes it will make everyone have a wrong impression of a certain scenic spot, which is more unfavorable to the dissemination of Chinese culture.

This paper explores the role of cultural image translation on the spread of the Chinese culture by visiting the West Lake scenic spot and taking West Lake tourism translation as the theme.
