Literature Review

Chinese and Western culture has always been the two major factions of world culture. The food culture plays a very important role in it, and the table manners culture is an important role in the formation of food culture. People in every country, every region, reveal their own cultural background in their diet. 

In <Appreciating Culture Differences between the east and the west through individual food Cultures>, Sun Jing sees the differences in Eastern and Western cultural values from the differences in dietary concepts. The differences characters of East and the West from the differences in dietary content. The differences in Eastern and Western thoughts from the differences in cooking methods. The characteristics of tableware, we can see the individualism of the Western and Eastern collectivism. From the comparison of table manners, the difference of the status of Eastern and Western women is drawn.

In <A Brief Description about the Differences in Table manners between the East and the West>, Zhou Qiyan said that the differences between the dining atmosphere, seat ordering, tableware, dining etiquette, departure and so on compare the differences between Eastern and Western table manners.

The main directions of these two studies are the Western and Eastern. The UK and the USA, although the same Western countries, but there are still have differences in table manners, the English more detailed, the Americans appear more casual. my study may hopefully make some contribution in the difference between Table Manners between Chinese and The UK, learns the essence of the culture of the two countries, learns to use.
