With the emergence of ideological liberation movements and human rights liberation movements all over the world, Feminism has also developed accordingly, and has become a unique landscape in literary works. Western countries are greatly influenced by humanism, and human rights liberation has been greatly applied and developed. Therefore, feminism can be seen everywhere in western literary works. For example, many English literary works show feminist colors; As an open immigrant country, the United States has developed rapidly because of the integration of feminism and black liberation movement. This paper will analyze the expression of feminism in British and American literature, and on this basis, analyze the influence of feminism in British and American literature.

The word "second sex" was first put forward by French philosopher and thinker Simone de Beauvoir in her work "second sex". This work has had a lasting and profound impact on later generations. People have used the words "Manifesto of Women's Liberation Movement", "Milestone of Feminism", "Foundation Works of Contemporary Feminism" and "Bible of Western Women" to describe the important role this work plays in feminist process and women's personal life. Inspired by this book, many female scholars have embarked on the academic road of exploring the existence of women and the relationship between the sexes, while more women have enhanced their understanding of being women under the enlightenment of this book. This masterpiece involves the ideological resources of biology, history, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, mythology, psychoanalysis, literature, culture and other disciplines, and is an example of interdisciplinary research. The book is divided into two volumes: the first volume is entitled "Facts and Myths" and the second volume is entitled "Practical Experience". The first volume of the book first discusses the limitations of the description of women's living status from three levels: biology, psychoanalysis and historical materialism. The author believes that the current theories can not effectively explain women's status as the other, whether they start with women's physiological characteristics or focus on women's own spiritual world and women's relationship with the outside society. She then traces back to the main development clues of human civilization, examines the changes of gender relations and gender social roles during this period, and comprehensively records the many efforts made by women in the world to strive for equal political rights; Finally, by carefully reading the portrayal of female images in myths, this paper explores the different presentation of women in literary and cultural works, so as to differentiate and analyze how women's status as the other is transformed into collective memory in patriarchal culture. The second volume of the book focuses on women's growth experience, and analyzes the different psychological mechanisms and social problems faced by women at different stages of their lives by citing a large number of examples, including the special problems faced by marginal groups such as prostitutes, nuns and gay women, and on this basis outlines the future ideal of gender equality.
