On the Euphemism of English---开题报告

Introduction: euphemistic language since the production date, charged with the task of "taboo", "courtesy", and "hide" function. Special function of euphemism in interpersonal communication has long attracted attention in the field of linguistics, euphemism of monographs and papers are numerous, present a splendid sight. It mainly focuses on the definition, classification, structure principle, and the theory of the euphemism, or from the aspects of pronunciation, grammar, semantics, rhetoric and so on. To investigate the few from the pragmatic perspective, a few studies from the perspective of overall pragmatic Limited is still relatively fragmented and scattered, skimming over the surface.

Meaning: This paper analyzes the main pragmatic principles used in the use of English euphemism, and shows how the use of English euphemism is the principle of how to comply with the cooperative principle and politeness principle. This paper will cite a large number of examples to discuss the realization of the pragmatic functions of English Euphemism in the process. Through the study of this paper, we hope to help English learners to understand the pragmatic functions of English euphemism, and then successfully use Euphemism to achieve the intended communicative purposes.
