Many scholars have devoted themselves to the study of single literature or the concept of salvation just in the Christian Bible. Only a few authors have conducted in-depth studies on the evolution of the concept of salvation. They have studied the evolution of the salvation caused by the transformation of the relationship between human and god. This paper selects and then organizes the representative works and the scholars’ research perspectives. Through the study of British and American ecological literature, it is concluded that the evolution of the concept of salvation should evolve from the transformation of the relationship between God, man, and nature. In the end, this paper classifies the evolution process of the concept of salvation in British and American literature into the following three stages: God's salvation to man, man's salvation to man (man to man), and man's salvation to nature.

To explore salvation is related to the concept of God and the relationship between man and God. Starting from the Bible's original concept of salvation, from “God is the Creator, the only Lord” to “He saves us from the power of darkness and circles us as His Son to His country" shows God's absolute divine power. Salvation can only be achieved by using God's deliverance. By selecting and summarizing previous scholars' analysis of the concept of salvation in the "Confessions" and "Faust" texts, the conclusion that God's love is the source of salvation can be reached as the first stage of the evolution of the concept of salvation.

In the second stage of this article, Western literature entered the era of Renaissance. The emergence of humanistic literature has transformed Western literary thoughts from absolute theocracy to the affirmation of human rights. We can see from the previous scholars' analysis of British and American literature such as “The Scarlet Letter” and “The Resurrection” that people have a view change to God, from the bow to the nose. From the absolute divine right to the day-to-day and secularization of the concept of God, the concept of salvation in people's hearts gradually freed themselves from God's dependence, and people's salvation depends on human love and spiritual power.

The third stage of this article is the human salvation to nature. There is currently no relevant research on the literature part. I compiled and analyzed this salvation point of view from the book “European and American Ecological Literature” written by Mr. Wang Nuo and then listed it as the article, which is also the final stage of salvation. At this time, British and American literature entered the era of ecological literature. From “Walden” to “Silent Spring”, people abandon the idea of anthropocentrism, regard human responsibility for nature as the main ethical orientation, and question how human civilization and development endanger the whole earth and all life. By exploring the relationship between humans and nature, the concept of salvation also evolved from man’s salvation to man to man's salvation to nature.

The transformation of the western literary spirit can be seen from the evolution of the concept of salvation in the relationship between man and man, as well as man and nature.
