从电影《阿甘正传》看中美宗教信仰之差异_开题报告

Forrest gump is an American inspirational film with education meaning, which contains rich and colorful secular life with profound religious consciousness.In the film, Christian religious characteristics have appeared many times.Through the fate of the protagonist, the film reveals the important role and influence of religion in American culture, and the destiny makes Americans have a strong sense of god's mission.The film has a full display of the destiny and shows the essence of American basic religious values.

In this paper, we use the movie forrest gump as a study model , which shows the contrast between American religious characteristics and Chinese traditional religious culture 。In the film, forrest gump’s religious enlightenment and the cognition of the Pope value comes from his mother.In the film, the young forrest gump has no friends play with him,he is relatively isolated from society. He lacks deep observation the ability to think.The religious beliefs and the cognition of religious almost all came from his mother, the spirit of surrender to fate, in large part from the firm's belief in god.

In daily life, forrest gump's mother often talk about the word of god, sometimes ,she has dialogue with god long to god's help, to get more power, to cross  difficulties and resistance, it also reflects the existence of religious values.literature put forward: forrest gump is similar to Jesus in single-parent family , and in his life, forrest gump running ceaselessly, echoed that Jesus and his apostles preached everywhere .In the film,forrest gump’s son go to school by school bus for the first time was almost reappear  the movie's opening scene which forrest gump get in school bus.These details remind  audience of forrest gump's statement is continue in such a way  that echoed the bible tells of the eternal life of Jesus in heaven.We can see the Christian culture in forrest gump have very impressive performance and penetration,  on the characters relations and characters from the hint and Metaphor of bible reflected everywhere. As China plays more and more important role in the international community, to reading western Excellent  film which have the Christian doctrine  can be a key to understanding the essence of western culture deeply .

It is precisely because of such different religious and cultural backgrounds that the two countries have formed a huge difference in the distribution of social functions of religious personnel。In America, the President takes the oath of office when he takes office. When couples get married, also need a pastor witness their  marriage. But in China, there is no theocracy supreme theory, monks have no talent, also have no the phenomenon of the magisterium in the United States .They often served as similar to the teacher's responsibility, to impart knowledge .We can realize the difference functional of clergy more sensitive  

To sum up, forrest gump presents to us the American religious values and the associated with the differences of Chinese and western religion .Forrest gump shows us the differences between Chinese and western religion, it allows us to communicate successfully in cross-cultural , avoid cultural conflict due to religious differences.
