Xue Limin(2006)studied that through the psychological analysis of characters, especially the analysis of the protagonist Heathcliff, it found that a obvious  emotional clues: from love to hate and then hate for revenge and finally realizing the revival of love. In this paper, the author focus on character conflict in the heart, through a careful description of the two love story, in order to illustrate the greatness of love and it is invincible, love conquers all, including hate. Zhang Xiaolian(2010) said that the reasons for the tragic love is that the protagonist avariciously purchases for the power and wealth, Catherine's greed for the status and wealth is due to own weakness of women driven by the society and people pay more attention to the class and rank to the marriage in the patriarchal society. Gao Erpo(2003) said that Emily suffered so much from the poverty and helplessness in material world and the loneliness in spiritual world, it made her feeling extremely disappointed for the material and emotional world. The author uses the tragic love with intense fantasy to express the strong dissatisfaction with the dark social reality at that time. Catherine's unbalanced personality structure puts her in a dilemma of love and marriage, Heathcliff is self-centered and he is never able to think rationally and could not control himself, even though Catherine is going to death. Love and hate are the representatives of these two instincts, and the strong love between Catherine and heathcliff made them unable to withstand the separation and want to die for the soul together. Ma Yuwen(2014) said that “Wuthering heights” describes a love tragedy, the direct cause of love tragedy is the greed and selfishness behind Catherine's love choice. The fundamental reason for the love tragedy lies in the patriarchal society at that time which forced her to make an choice against her conscience. Her greed for power and wealth was driven by the social disadvantage of women. This has made her a victim of love, not a loving one. This is the result of the irreconcilable nature and civilization of the patriarchal society, which is the product of the times. Zhang Zhongfeng(2000)said that "Wuthering heights" tells two love stories. They belong to two generations, and the endings of love are different. As the previous generation of Heathcliff and Catherine, because of the cultural conflict, their love ended in tragedy; As the next generation of young Catherine and Hareton, their love begins in a comic form because of the cultural integration. The loves reflect the author's new love concept and profound religious views.

Zhang Yaru(2011) said that Catherine's feelings for Edgar Linton and Heathcliff were, in fact, a choice between civilization and barbarism. Her love between barbarism and civilization, was intended to save Heathcliff, but it was turned to ruin. And Heathcliff’s almost monstrous revenge was extinguished in the eyes of Cathy and Hareton. The relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff, which is the fit of the two men's nature, the freedom of humanity. He Siyan(2009) said that the best part of the novel is a love story between Heathcliff and Catherine, the love between them has been far beyond the general sense of love, it can be considered as a super human love. But because of their special circumstances, their good wishes could not be realized in the world, it only could be reunited in heaven. The death of the body means the rebirth of the spirit, it is the return of humanity after death. In Emily's works, death is eternal life, life can be renewed, and the fire of love can be rekindled. As long as there are humans, there must be love. Human nature can be distorted, but can not be swallowed, the noble love will eventually overcome the cruel hatred. Wei Jianping (2004) studied that from the “Wuthering heights”, Emily's poems and other limited personal information, it analyzes Emily's character and her inner world and her views to the outside world and her love of nature and her yearning for freedom and she's revolt against their fate and the purchase for the desire. It reveals the conflict between ideal and reality life of Emily. Wu Haiming(2009) studied that the traditional gothic theme is mostly about vendetta and intrigue and rape and incest and so on."Wuthering heights" is a story of love and revenge, which involves hatred and intrigue and succession. However, the traditional gothic novel uses the conflict between good and evil to develop of the plot."Wuthering heights" dissolves this theme. There is no conflict of good and evil in Emily's novels, her characters have no good or evil points, some are only human exploration of the most natural and real human nature.
