Introduction
David Thoreau is a famous American thinker and thinker in the 19th century. Walden Lake was named "ten books with American characteristics" by American tradition. Walden Lake has become a book that many scholars and translators like to translate and study. At present, the research at home and abroad mainly includes: 1. Treat nature well and respect life. According to Thoreau's analysis, human civilization is at the expense of nature. He personifies everything on Walden, endows all creatures with life and regards them as neighbors and partners. 2. Verify Darwin's theory. Thoreau can capture and quantify the growth and death process of nature, so as to identify the pattern of chaotic creativity in the natural world. This also enabled him to test Darwin's Theory - "means that nature has greater vitality, because it is more flexible, more flexible, equivalent to a continuous new creation." 3. Utopian optimism. It depicts a utopian world created by close communication between man and nature. He refused to be obsessed with all his material and needs. What he pursues is just a kind of childish romance, a simple way of life, a way of spiritual enrichment. This paper will analyze Thoreau's experience in spring, summer, autumn and winter in Walden Lake by comparing nature, Darwin's theory and optimism, and analyze his psychological process and turnover process through his views and attitudes towards foreign objects. Combined with reality, we may experience what we experience when we encounter adversity and how our mentality will change.

1. A brief introduction to the novel and its author
1.1 Introduction to Walden
Walden is composed of 18 essays. As a Transcendentalist classic, it is recognized as the most popular nonfiction work in American literature. In April 2020, it was listed in the junior high school part of the "Reading Guidance Catalogue for primary and secondary school students of the development center of basic education curriculum and teaching materials of the Ministry of Education (2020 Edition)".

In the first half of the 19th century, the United States was in the initial stage of transformation from the agricultural era to the industrial age. With the acceleration of industrialization in capitalist society, money worship and hedonism occupy an overwhelming dominant position. At the same time, people's madness, greed, overuse and possession of limited natural resources have led to a series of environmental problems, such as the rapid decline of forest coverage, the increasingly serious soil erosion, the continuous reduction of biodiversity and so on, which makes the living environment of human beings at risk. This explains the context in which Thoreau wrote the book. From July 1845 to September 1847, Thoreau lived alone by Walden for more than two years. After returning to society, he wrote this book Walden, through which Thoreau described all his experiences in Walden throughout the year. Finally, it tells people about ideals and lifestyles. Thoreau not only wanted people to travel in the outside world, but also wanted to face his own heart and travel in his own inner world.
1.2 Introduction to Henry David Thoreau
Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 to May 6, 1862), an American writer, philosopher and representative of Transcendentalism, was also an abolitionist and naturalist. He graduated from Harvard University, wrote many political commentaries against the American Mexican War, and supported the abolitionist movement all his life. Influenced by Emerson, he advocated returning to the original and treating nature kindly. Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi were also influenced by Thoreau.

Thoreau is known as the founder of natural prose. His prose is concise and powerful, simple and natural, full of ideas, which is unique in the 19th century American prose. His Walden Lake is known as the classic work of modern American literature. Through his practice in Walden Lake, he proved to the world that people have indeed reversed the meaning of life.

Thoreau was a man of integrity, a natural opponent, who was committed to coordinating his actions with his beliefs. He works hard and is never lazy or capricious. When he needs money, he is willing to do some physical work similar to his character to earn money, or do other short-term work - not long-term work.
2. The change of mental journey at all seasons
When Thoreau wrote Walden, he began with the chapter "economy", describing why he went to Walden at that time and what choice he made in the face of the pressure of external environment. When Thoreau first arrived at Walden Lake, it was summer. He described the situation and mood through some voices? In Thoreau, after the harvest of autumn, he had a new understanding. When Thoreau went through Walden in winter, he began to break through himself and longed for the arrival of "spring".
2.1 The beginning of integration
Thoreau mentioned in his book Walden why he went to Walden. At that time, the external environment in which he was engaged would no longer provide him with the work he had been engaged in. In this regard, he saw more racial differences and complained about it, but the effect was very little. Not only did the discriminators think so, but also the ideas of the discriminated people. In the end, I chose to go to Walden Lake not only because I had no job, but also because I wanted to find a place where I could do some personal business with the least obstacles, and it was also a good place to do business, so I chose Walden Lake. In Thoreau's view, he felt that he was in a bad state and chose to escape to Walden Lake. However, the book shows that he chose to leave temporarily to prepare and plan for a new journey.
2.2 The sound of summer -- anxious and disappointed but hoping to cheer up
In the summer near Lake Val, Thoreau began his own meditation, which reminded him of the passage of time and made him understand the meaning of meditation. He chose to come here because of his business plan. If he has been immersed in constant work, there is no way to meditate.

Thoreau described his emotional changes by hearing different voices in Walden Lake.
At first, Thoreau heard the sound of the train whistle and the sound of leaving, and found that people's lifestyle and rhythm had changed, becoming more punctual, and even had a "train like" style. At this time, Thoreau still wanted to continue his purpose of coming to Walden Lake, from which he wanted to explore commerce and find commercial channels. However, he still can't put down the social harm to himself. He didn't accept these changes, but just made a mockery of everything around him. This may also be Thoreau's self mockery of himself.

Then, through Thoreau's description of hearing the Nightingale's voice, "Yet I love to hear their wailing, their doleful responses, trilled along the wood-side; reminding me sometimes of music and singing birds; as if it were the dark and tearful side of music, the regrets and sighs that would fain be sung", in fact, clearly expresses Thoreau's inner sadness at this time. He thinks that he has lost his job, just like a dog abandoned in the middle of the night, who can only bark in no one's street, but no one cares.

Finally, Thoreau wanted to hear the rooster's voice, because he thought that the cock's voice represented health, and the spirit would never decline. Although Thoreau felt satirical and sad in all the voices he had heard before, he kept lighting a small flame for himself, hoping that he could cheer up and not be affected by these external environment or be really frustrated.

In the whole sound of summer, though Thoreau wants to start over again and use his business mind to find business channels around him, he only feels the sadness, anxiety and disappointment from the sounds of animals and plants around him, although he is eager to be able to revive himself.
2.3 Harvest in autumn -- start to enjoy nature and learn to thank
In autumn, Thoreau chose to let go of his identity and live in harmony with nature through the harvest of nature and his labor in this season.

The harvest brought by nature, such as grapes, cranberries, wild apples, wild chestnuts, and wild beans, made Thoreau no longer care about others' ridicule and evaluation of himself. He wrote in his book, “They were beans cheerfully returning to their wild and primitive state that I cultivated, and my hoe played the Rans des Vaches for them”. From this, we can see that Thoreau has begun to enjoy the beauty of nature and return to the original state of the wild. There is a turning point in his mind. He no longer hears sad voices every day Influence yourself, but start to slowly accept the beauty of nature, so that each day is a new day, let each day become a new landscape.

Thoreau's own labor also had a harvest. His house in Walden Lake was finally built, which provided him with a place to shelter from the wind and rain, to keep warm, to wash away the dust, to eat, to drink, to chat, and to dream. He expressed respect and thanks for all that he had built. “and hear the pot boil, and pay your respects to the fire that cooks your dinner and the oven that bakes your bread.”

In autumn, Thoreau began to let go of his disappointment, sadness and anxiety, stop to enjoy the land of Walden Lake, appreciate and enjoy the beauty of nature, gradually express his gratitude for the things around him, and promote some of his luxury from the appearance to the inner purity and dedication. While sublimating himself, he also hopes to plant seeds of honesty, truth, simplicity, self-confidence and innocence in people's hearts, and harvest the fruits of these seeds.
2.4 Traces of winter -- hope to be relieved but trapped by "nightmare"
In winter, Thoreau saw Walden Lake covered with thick ice and snow. In the snow, the ice left a variety of traces, and their own mood seems to be frozen, as Walden Lake surface is frozen, but actually the undercurrent surging.

During the day, through the footprints of animals, Thoreau saw ducks, moles, foxes and rabbits coming to him. He felt that although they were small, they were full of wildness, freedom and vitality. Through the traces of old houses and fires, it is found that many historical tragedies will eventually be diluted by time, which also represents the memories and happiness of the past.
At this time, Thoreau changed from enjoying nature to seeking freedom and vitality. He hoped that he would be like a "small animal". Though small, he had immeasurable "wildness and vitality". Thoreau seems to have put down the shackles that had been shackled by himself. All will pass in the end. There are many memories and happiness in his wounds.

But in the middle of the night, he heard the whistling of ice, as if troubled by a dream. In the whole winter, Thoreau seems to have been released and "really put down" in the daytime, but in the middle of the night Thoreau did not escape from the "nightmare" in his heart.

Thoreau's mind at this time experienced a repeated process, from satire at the beginning to enjoyment. He thought that winter would pass smoothly, but he did not expect that it would be the same as the changes of the four seasons. In winter, the surface was calm and frozen, but he was still trapped by "nightmare". His mind reached the critical point of entanglement, wondering whether he could survive the "winter".
2.5 Spring's rebirth -- breaking through the shackles, no longer wandering
Thoreau has been looking for the signal of spring, rather than waiting for the arrival of spring. At this time, he actively welcomed the arrival of spring, and let himself really glow with youth like spring.

He found signs of nature. The days began to grow longer, the ice melted, the streams began to flow, and small animals began to play "pranks" and even began to expel winter. And he wrote, "So our human life but dies down to its root, and still puts forth its green blade to eternity."

At this time, Thoreau's mind ushered in the final course, began to really break through himself, planted "spring fire" for himself, as long as his "root" is still there, he can "spring breeze blows again". Even if he had no company, he would not feel lonely. Also let people understand that spring has come, do not linger in winter. As long as we inject better ideas into the future, we will also become bright.
3. The realistic significance of Novel
From the perspective of Thoreau's Walden's whole mind journey, it can reflect many situations in reality. It can also make people feel their inner mental process in the face of Adversity like Thoreau's, so as to break through the shackles of heart and welcome new life. Next, we will describe some situations that we will encounter from three aspects: first, adversity in a special period; second, challenges in different stages of life experience; third, adversity brought by long-term environment. In these adversities, we can face and find ourselves again after one-to-one correspondence with Thoreau's experience in Walden Lake. How to cultivate one's "mental model" in adversity.
3.1Adversity of Anti epidemic situation special period
The novel coronavirus pneumonia also raged along with the arrival of New Year's Eve earlier this year. Faced with a sudden nationwide epidemic, we are like a trapped animal, unable to break through. In this special period novel coronavirus is threatened by Thoreau's social pressure. Doctors and nurses choose to stay at home when they are under the threat of new coronavirus.

In the face of this epidemic, I believe that many people are like Thoreau at the beginning. They are very anxious and afraid. However, with the rapid response of the state and the government, doctors and nurses have the resources to treat patients, and the people can stay at home at ease. Some of the original anxiety has also become difficult to get together with their families. With the recovery and discharge of the patients, the epidemic prevention measures and materials were sufficient. Everyone was thinking that the epidemic situation was defeated by us. We also began to look for "spring signal" in winter. Instead of expecting health, we could have health and strength to break through the "encirclement" of the epidemic.

In this special period, we will certainly face panic, fear, anxiety, even sad, sad at the beginning, but what we need is to be able to change our mentality all the time. At each stage, we can look forward to the bright future, and our spirit will never decline. Finally, we will be able to highlight the encirclement.
3.2Challenges in different stages of life experience
In fact, people's life is neither long nor short. But in general, in life, they will experience some common challenges, such as college entrance examination, after graduation, looking for a job, etc.

In these challenges of different stages of life, you may face not only the preparation of knowledge, experience or qualifications, but also your psychological preparation. The journey of the mind is just like Thoreau's experience in Walden Lake.

You may feel confused at first when you are facing the college entrance examination or looking for a job. You may think about whether you are ready to get the road you want to choose. In the process, with your goal clear, you can still remind yourself in your mind in the scorching, and keep confidence. Do more preparation, you will slowly put down this anxiety and hesitation in the preparation process. But you may still be harassed by nightmares before the exam or the night before the interview. If you choose to give up at this time, you may fail. If you can go to find the "spring signal" actively like Thoreau, break the "snow in winter", and walk bravely, you can definitely go the way you want to go.
3.3Adversity in the long run
Most of the time, we will be in a certain environment, and be overwhelmed by this environment. For example, they may be born poor, and some of the outlooks around them make them feel inferior all the time, and even feel that they will be poor all their lives. Or in the work environment, at the beginning did not choose a good job, so they muddle along with life. Or I thought I was pretty good, but when I came to a new working environment, I found that there were more excellent people than myself. I was in danger of being eliminated and never recovered.

In a short period of adversity, some people can quickly adjust their own state, but if you have been in a certain kind of adverse environment for a long time, the change of your mentality is more important. If you can't, like Thoreau, encounter adversity in the process, you can always remind yourself to keep your spirit, and even feel and feel the light from the people around you and nature, and take the initiative to look for the light, or compare the advantages of others and how to make up for your weaknesses, then it is not the environment or the people around you that will eliminate you, but you Have not been able to change their mentality in time, their own out of the "environment" in.

Like an old Chinese saying, at this time, we need to break the boat, put it to death, and later life.

4. Conclusion
A person's life is often determined by your choices in the process, your own inner choices. It is true that Walden's contributions to the nature and literature are beyond his comprehension. When I read this book again, I found that when Thoreau described what he saw and heard in detail, his overall mental path changed from disappointment, anxiety, gratitude and optimism to actively looking for the spring signal, injecting himself with good ideas for the future, so that he would no longer wander in the winter. The change of his mentality also led to the change of his description of things, from the beginning of business to the beautiful natural ecology, and then back to his own heart. Thoreau said that everyone is an island, but few people explore it. Let's be a Columbus, discover a new world in your inner world, and open up a channel for your thoughts rather than business. The results are important, but so is the process. We should make a good voyage on our own island, explore and feel in our own heart, and enjoy our mental journey at every stage.
