Whether they are wives, mothers or laborers in the family, their abilities and powers are not inferior to those of male characters, but there is always a value in the movie that is intentionally or unintentionally: women really The function is to be a woman.

This article selects the female characters in the films Little Women and Mrs Miniver to specifically analyze the women in the film as family members and women as social people. The film Little Women takes female as the main character and presents 5 different female characters, including not only women as family members but also women as social members. They can see a very modern aspect: the image of women in the era of tenacity, independence, pursuit of freedom and ideals. On the other hand, the characters themselves cannot escape the shadow of traditional women. The final belonging of the characters is a happy and happy marriage. Realize the ideal of ego.

Mrs Miniver commends the unyielding spirit shown by women before the great danger faced by the domestic front. Among them are not only the shadow of women as family members but also the shadow of women as social people. They are both soldiers and mothers. As soldiers, they can sacrifice their lives. As mothers, they must ensure the continuity of the social structure.

The two films have similarities and differences. By analyzing the female protagonists, whether they are family members or as society members, they bravely face the test of war and the dramatic changes in life, and discuss the adjustment and transformation of American women's roles.
