Literature Review

American ecological literature is one of the earliest ecological literature in the world, because the early ecological literature contains a large number of religious ideas, which are of great value to the establishment of the United States at that time，as well as the further development of the entire Western civilization. A lot of representative writers and works have appeared during the long-term development of American ecological literature, from the colonial period to the present. After reading a lot of literatures, I have a basic understanding of the development of American ecological literature. This paper divides it into three periods, and selects three representative works "The Call of the Wild".  "Walden Lake" "Silent Spring" for analysis.

From Wang Nuo's "Euro-American Ecoliterature" to Xia Guangwu's "American Ecological Literature", domestic research on European and American ecological literature has been very comprehensive, from the definition of ecological literature to the relationship between man and nature. These two books contain countless works of ecological literature and their contents, which are extensive and complex. Many previous scholars have also made a detailed analysis of the ecological concept in the book "Walden Lake" and "Silent Spring". Their studies on the ecological ideas, ecological literature and ecological ethics in these works have provided a solid foundation for the further research of this subject.

In summary, many scholars have rarely studied the selection of representative works, as well as the background in the development process of American ecological literature. In view of this, on the basis of predecessors’ research results, this paper uses the detailed literature and its own innovation, starting from the background of the times to representative works, aims to analyze the development process of American ecological literature in a simple way.
