1.Introduction

1.1.Research Background 

China’s tourism industry is booming in the recent years. Not only the Chinese people choose to travel during the holidays to enrich their life, foreigners are attracted by China’s beautiful scenery and splendid culture. Therefore, tourism boom calls for high-quality tourism translation. However, tourism translation is faced with many difficulties because of the differences in Chinese and English language, and poor translation confuses and even offends foreign tourist. Therefore, when it comes to an appropriate tourism text, be ware of these differences and reason why are important.

However, recent studies on tourism text are trend to under the guidance of Skopos theories and cross-culture perspective more than on the text language difference itself. 

1.2.Research Object

Through analyzing the English Version of scenic-spot introduction of Hangzhou, the study aim to reveals the common problem in translation and then analyzes them respectively in the light of text features and Chinese-English language differences, and propose several translation methods with a hope to improve the quality of the English translation of Hangzhou scenic-spot introductions and promote the development of Chinese tourism.
