Introduction
Background
In the nearest decade, China has witnessed great progress in economy and it also has closer connection with the other countries. Especially after several word-famous events like the 2008 Beijing Olympic Game, the 2010 Shanghai World exposition, the 2011 Xi’an Horticultural Exposition and 2016 Hangzhou G20 Summit, tourism is playing an important role in the flourishing industry. For an example, Putuo Mountain, one of four famous Buddhist Mountains in China, attract more than ten thousands visitors every week. The most importantly, a quarter of tourists is foreign friends. For this reason, the well-exploited tourism resources, the good international image and its open way to the world are all decided by the correct Chinese-English translation of Putuo Mountain introduction and tourism signs. However, the incorrect Chinese-English translation of tourism materials can be found everywhere in Putuo Mountain. Thus, an intensive research on the problems of Chinese-English translation of tourism materials is vitally necessary and important.

Purpose
This paper mainly focuses on the translation of scenic spots' introduction in Putuo Mountain, which plays a significant role in the development of local tourism industry. Moreover, it introduces the common errors and theory foundations prevailing, and provides some possible solutions, intending to make the best version of the translation.

Literature Review
The following findings, information and secondary data collected gave an overview of common errors and theory foundations prevailing in the Chinese-English translation of tourism introduction.

The definition of tourism translation
The translation which is conducted for tourism activities, fields and sectors related to tourism, travel and hospitality industries, characteristic of cross-linguistic, cross-social, cross-cultural and cross-psychological.

Functions of tourism translation
The informative function
The appellative function
The persuasive function

Basic principles of tourism translation
To target readers as the center
To disseminate the Chinese culture center

Problems in the Chinese-English translation of Putuo Mountain introduction
With the reform and open policy, more and more foreigners come to China for a tour, which rouses a great demand of the correct and idiomatic Chinese-English translation of tourism materials for the convenient services of tourists abroad. As a necessary element of tourism inductions, scenic spots’ translation arouses more and more attention throughout China. How to make the precise translation out of the piled tourism materials is the problem the translators have to deal with. Based on the research, there are some usual errors existing in the aspect of Chinese-English translation existing. 

Linguistic translation errors
Translation errors at linguistic level are caused by an adequate translation when focus is on language structures.

Pragmatic translation errors
Pragmatic translation errors are resulted by inadequate solutions to pragmatic translation problems such as a lack of receiver orientation.

Cultural translation errors
Cultural translation errors are due to an inadequate decision with regard to reproduction or adaptation of culture-specific conventions

Techniques suggested to the translation problems
According to the limited reserach, the Chinese-English translation of Putuo Mountain introduction can be imporved by the several ways.

Borrowing available English tourism signs
The translators could just borrow the ever-existing English tourism signs which have the same functions with the resemblant Chinese tourism signs.

Supplementation
The translation technique of addition can be used to give necessary cultural background information in order to make the foreign visitors better understand the tourism introductions.

Deletion
Chinese translators should use simple and direct words and phrases when translating, so as to make the English-speaking visitor understand the local scenic spot better.

Order adjustment
Because of the cultural diversities, the target receivers will not have any interest in the literally translated version. It is urgent to re-adjust the order of the words and sentences.

Choosing suitable mood
The translators should consider the difference carefully in the translating process of Chinese-English translation of tourism introduction by using suitable mood.
