一、Literature Review
   Since the 21st century,more and more foreign tourists have come to visit China.With the vigorous development of tourism in China ,tourism plays a more important role in the development of national economy. As a special advertising text,the introduction of tourist scenic spot plays an important role in tourism promotion.There is no doubt that language plays an important role in tourism.It is powerful driving force in tourism,and it can turn an unknown place into a destination.This article is mainly a brief summary of the features of scenic spot.
   Sun hong mei(2010) thinks that both Chinese and English travel introductions are occasional to attract tourists by sending messages.From the point of view of text function,this kind of text has two functions:information function and induction function.Among them ,induction function is intrinsic function.Because the ultimate purpose of tourist information is to attract tourists.Pay attention to the effect after language,stimulate tourists’ desure to visit.But readers want to get relevant information and background knowledge before making a decision to visit a certain place and at the time of visiting a scenic spot.Therefore,informativeness is also an important function of tourist information and a prerequisite for the realization of the attraction function.
Li shi min (2011) points out that the tourist texts are intended to attract customers.Tourism discourse has two main functions: one is to convey information,the other is to induce purpose.Among them,information function is the basic function of discourse,The information function of tourism discourse is mainly to provide tourists with rich tourism information,including practical information such as location,route,facilities,and human information such as history,culture and so on.Tourist attraction introduction belongs to information type and is a kind of communicative activity with strong purpose.Its purpose is to provide tourists with information related to tourist attractions or tourist products in order to attract tourists and improve the quality of tourism.Therefore,in the translation of tourist attractions,we strive for novelty,vividness,brevity,appeal and attraction.
Zhang jiao (2013)in her article describe,a descriptition of the scenic spots was defined:a text used within a tourist attraction to illustrate the style of a simple introduction to the basic conditions of a scenic spot.In many tourist attractions,in order to undersdand the basic situation of the tourist attractions,scenic spots management departments to chart,inscriptions,and other forms of enclosure are briefly introduced,and its main function is to transfer information,but the profile has the function of education,increase the tourists in the humanities,natural history and other aspects of knowledge.Scenic spot description words generally have the characteristics of objective content,concise text,clear purpose and so on.The term”scenic spot description words ”belongs to the informational text,and its purpose is to transmit the imformation about the scenic spot to the tourist.
Zheng xuan (2017) made a comparision between English and Chinese Tourism texts.Generally speaking,most English tourist texts have simple style,rigorous structure but not complex structure,concise and clear words,intuitive and popular expression,pay attention to the accuracy of information and the practicality of language,and most avoid building up verbose,in most cases,the description of scenery ofen conveys the beauty of real scenery by objective concrete list,in order to faithfully reproducemature and give readers a clear and concreat impression.The Chinese language stresses harmony of sound and rhyme,symmetry of form,vague and implicit use of words,very subjective.Chinese tourist texts often use modifier adjectives extensively,ornate words.According to the aesthetic habit of Chinese,A rhetorical expression that strengthens momentum,highlights a certain thought or emotion,or strengthens the rhythm.The use of these modifiers can achieve good information effects and real effect in Chinese culture.
Tourism texts of high quality play an important role in promoting communication and dissemination of Chinese tourism resources and culture.Tourism is the largest cultural service industry in the world today.With the arrival of economic globalization and cultural globalization,tourism has also begun to enter the era of globalization.In the golden century of tourism development,China will become the largest tourist reception country in the new century.In order to make foreign tourists better undersdand Chonese unlimited human,historical ,natural and cultural tourism resources,high quality tourism translation texts plays an important role in promoting the foreign exchange and publicity of Chinese tourism resources and culture,To promote the development of tourism.The trabslation of tourist texts has become one of the focuses of attention of many scholars and experts in the field of translation in China.However,at present,it is mainly from the perspective of translation function theory and cross-culture vision to explore tourism translation.
Therefore,to sum up,it’s not hard to find that the introduction text of scenic spots can be divided into two categories,one is the text that is placed in the scenic spot to explain the nature ,orientation and history of the scenic spots in the form of signs,and the other is the text that is cscattered in various tourist materials to describe the scenery of the scenic spot.This article will explore the language features of this two kinds of scenic spot translation. In the article,I will use a contrastive approach to explore the difference between English and Chinese landscape description text,and analyze the underlying reasons behind the language differences,that is,the differences between English and Chinese national culture and thinking.Through the comparison,we think that the translation of landscape description should take the reader effect as the basic starting point,take full account of the differences in expression style between English and Chinese landscape description,and effectively achieve the purpose of communication.
To sum up,the main features of English tourist attractions are objective content,concise text and clear logic.The features of English scenery description:concise,compact and metaphorical.
