As is known to all, the development of higher education depends on the solid theoretical foundation. The choice and organization of the course content, the selection and organization of the course content, the teaching methods and methods will be influenced by the social and cultural factors in the process of English education in China. The development of English education can be found in the specific historical and cultural conditions.
This paper focuses on the study of the development of College English education in modern China, thus contributing to the reform and development of College English education in China. Therefore, this article will be from two aspects related to this topic to do a literature review: the history of the development of English education research and the study of English teaching.
Over the past 20 years, people published a lot of foreign language education and education for a class of the historical literature at home and abroad, however, it is very few to examine the history of foreign language education, and this is perhaps a fact in the publishing industry on the Chinese omission of modern education originated in foreign language education.
The first part is the study on the history of the development of English education in Colleges and Universities. Study on the history of the development of English education is one of the few, mostly it's scattered in various China education history of English education reform and development of the section, and it needs to be screened and summarized, such as the famous linguists Fu Ke wrote The history of foreign language education in China, which introduces part of the English Education Chinese. A very limited number of previous works, most of which is completed in 1980s, the foreign language in the era of economic globalization, the Internet developed information society, highlight the unique role, and people can't pay attention to: the development of foreign language education has a lag and the economy, society, is not adapt to the lack of attention for culture. In this paper, it will pay attention to the research of the development of the College English education in modern China from 1911-1949, and it provide a reference for the late research.
