一、文献综述

Domestic research status

Western scholars study film and television translation from the perspective of translation. It can be traced back to the end of N5o's and early '60s. The Traduction et Cinema' s article in Le 1inguiste/De taalkundige published in 1956 and the special edition of Babel published in 1960 can be said to be the earliest theoretical study of film and television translation in Europe. Dollerup 1974 Article published in Bable, On Subtitles in Tel Evision Programmers studied subtitle translation alone for the first time. This paper analyzes in detail the different kinds of errors in translating English TV programs into Danish. In the 1990 s, the western film and television translation studies began its "golden age". There has been a breakthrough in the theory of film and television translation. In 1991, Overcoming Language Barriers in Television:Dubbi was published in collaboration with four European film and television translation experts under the auspices of the European Media Institute. Ng and Subtitling for the European Audience- book. In 1992, the Swedish subtitle translator Ivarsson published his book Subtitling for the Media:A Handbook of an Art.1995 years later, the western film and television translation studies entered a rapid development era, and the relevant theoretical research increased significantly. The achievements of European scholars are particularly remarkable. Eugene Nida is an international famous linguist. According to Zhang Jinghao's statistics, Nida is alone Or co-publishing more than 40 academic monographs, published more than 250 research papers. The most influential is Toward a Science of Translating ('s Scientific Exploration of Translation, published in 1964), followed by The Theory and Practice of Translation's Translation Theory and practice, co-authored with Charles Taber, published in 1969.

Current situation of foreign research

In our country, the study of film and television translation started late. Not only are few researchers engaged in this field, but also the academic articles published are limited, the scope of research is scattered and one-sided, and there is no systematic theory. Although there have been similar attempts, the scope of application is relatively narrow, mainly in the following aspects: interpreting film dubbing or subtitle translation with relevance theory; applying Skopos, functional equivalence and Cooperative principles to Film and Television Translation. Both emphasize the translator's combination of the purpose of translation and the situation and response of the target recipient: selective translation from the multi-source information provided by the original, such as the application of the reader's acceptance theory to the word. Metaphorical translation in screen translation or translation of English subtitles from the perspective of Skopos.

Since the introduction of Nida's translation theory into China in the 1980s, the translation circle has been refreshed, which has set off the climax of Nida's research and citation, and the "Nida as words must be said" has emerged. At that time, many translation researchers, such as Tan Zexi, reviewed the Exploration of Translation Science, and published the Nature of Nida's Theory of Translation, introducing and quoting Nida's explanation of "lexical coupling". Xu Wenbao introduces Nida's basic requirements for translators and Bao Zhennan introduces Nida's reader response theory. In addition, Luo long, Guo Jianzhong, Zhou Yuliang, Gui Qianyuan, Luo Jinde and Liu Miqing all introduced or evaluated Nida's relevant theories.

In June 2005, he published an introduction to Film and Television Translation, which is a rare monograph of film and television translation studies in recent years. Professor li Yunxing, school of foreign languages, Tianjin university, issued in 2001 From the perspective of text translation theory, this paper studies film subtitle translation and so on. In addition, in some journals academic thesis and master thesis, we can also see the film subtitle translation.

In general, whether it is the practice of film and television translation or the relevant theoretical studies of film and television translation, Compared with the western countries, our country is still lagging behind in the study of film and television translation in our country. There is a great contradiction between the lack of research on film and television translation and the introduction of a large number of foreign language films and TV works, and there is a great lack of theoretical guidance in film and television translation. The academic status of the study of film and television translation still needs to be improved, and the relevant strategies and techniques of film and television translation still need to be studied in depth, so as to form our own theoretical system of film and television translation. The study of film and television translation has become a new hotspot in the field of translation studies.
