Detective novels are one of the most popular genres in popular literature. which are novels mainly about the occurrence and reasoning of cases. According to statistics, European and American books of detective novels account for 15-25%. Arthur Conan Doyle was a distinguished British detective novelist and playwright, known as the father of British detective, and his Sherlock Holmes became the most famous fictional character in the world. But Agatha Christie sold 2 billion copies, second only to the bible and Shakespeare at the time. This has to be said to be a miracle. In the future, I will analyze her creation mode and special charm through detailed interpretation of her works. First, let me give you some background. 

The success of Sherlock Holmes stories has led to the mushrooming of detective novels in the west. Between the first world war and the second world war, which was called the golden age of western detective fiction, there were thousands of detective stories in Britain and the United States alone.

In the late 1920s, a kind of anti-traditional detective novel appeared in the United States, which was called tough detective novel. This kind of novel describes the tough environment and fighting scenes, and reflects the social reality to a certain extent. In their works, characters are no longer symbols arranged for the needs of the plot, and detectives themselves are not omnipotent heroes. They have their own weaknesses and often fall into awkward situations. Other characters also tend to have their own personalities. 

In general, they depict flesh and blood, giving people a sense of reality. At the same time, a group of detective novelists emerged in England, the most famous being Agatha, one of the most iconic writers, of the golden age. Good use of the complex layout, full of doubts about the character image, create many false, and finally put forward a surprising ending. She pioneered the cottage genre of detective fiction. Her writing is easy to understand, concise and crisp, and she has put her careful observation of life as well as people's various love and hate in a murder case.

   Why doesn’t china have good detective stories? First, the ancient Chinese crime novels also have classic works, but the routine is old and no new idea, becomes weak.

Look at modern history, there are many detective stories sprung up. But they are not out of the western detective mode. More is copy from others.

The novel, and then there were none, is a typical Agatha mystery. Eight strangers were invited to the island. When they arrived, they were received only by a couple of housekeepers. At dinner, the phonograph in the restaurant suddenly sounded, accusing their guests and the housekeeper of murder. The ten men were all guilty of murder. Who was the murderer? The panic island had been searched many times by them, and there was no room for him. Therefore, the murderer must be among them. The wind and waves stopped, the island's infighting stopped, leaving only ten dead bodies.. No one survived. That is the charm of Agatha. It was so strange and complicated that it was hard to predict.

To sum up, through the profound interpretation of Agatha's works, we can learn what unique charm it is, making Agatha Christie a detective queen. Her novels are so popular and enduring. Look for answers in the strange and gorgeous world she created for us. Let’s see the shortcomings of Chinese detective novels.
